Pros:
-Best service I have had at an hotel I have ever stayed at, the doormen are stellar.
-The Mac-Mini used as an entertainment hub was useful and so unique.
-Keurig Coffee maker was a big plus, we brought our favorites from home
-Use of the Equinox gym was nice, but they won't let you use their wifi and you won't get a signal on your phone because of its location.
-Nice toiletries and towels, very clean and modern bathroom.
-Great Gold Coast location.

Cons:
-The bed and pillows were pretty terrible, I felt like I was at the many budget hotels I use to stay at when I was in college
-Two elevators on each floor just didn't seem like enough, we were on the 7th floor and were always waiting for extended periods of time.
-Our view was of the building next door, we couldn't see anything. We booked on Orbitz so that may be the reason.
-The rooms and hotel don't look like they have been updated in some time, the carpets in the room were dark and old looking and the lobby didn't seem that inviting.

Wonderful wonderful service! Staff was the best of any place I have ever stayed! Great location with bars and restaurants nearby. Was an easy stroll to Mich Ave. Hotel room was immaculate. Try the Dublin pub that is a block away or stop and buy a Bentley.

My granddaughter loves American Girl dolls and accessories and for the past few years we have gone into Chicago by train to spend the day at the American Girl store. This year we found an extra treat when we decided to spend the night at a hotel that had an American Girl package. There are several if these hotels with AG packages but The Talbott Hotel seemed to provide the best offer for us, its location is three blocks from the AG store, and the staff at The Talbott could not have been better. We were given a VIP treatment, with special gifts for my granddaughter (you will have to look at the Talbott site to see what these treats are) and the concierge was awesome. He made arrangements for a tour of downtown Chicago (we decided not to do this since it was bitter cold), made reservations for us at a local restaurant, had special discounts available for places we wished to visit, and generally set us up for a wonderful overnight.
The hotel is a boutique hotel (rather than what I call a big box hotel where one might get lost) the people who work there specialize in hospitality and courtesy. We felt like very special people and were treated accordingly. All of the amenities you could wish for are available and the restaurant that is in the hotel is excellent. It's rates are reasonable considering you are downtown Chicago, just down the street from the Water Tower. The next treat for me will to return to The Talbott soon along with my husband!

Room Tip: Our room was a double queen on the 14th floor; can't ask for more than that!

My wife and I stayed at the Talbott Hotel for a couple nights in July. Would we stay here again and/or recommend it to friends – you bet.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and met our needs. The hotel is located a couple blocks away from a subway stop which was handy for us as that is what we used to get around Chicago. We actually took the subway from O’Hare to the hotel. The hotel is also just a couple blocks away from Michigan Ave which is known as the Magnificent Mile.
The hotel did have free WI-FI.

I have uploaded lots of pictures of the hotel for you to get a better picture of what it is like.

We were absolutely delighted by the level of service provided to us from the valet, doorman, front desk, through housekeeping. Dwayne did an incredible job making sure that we had cabs to our destination for the evening and that when it was time to leave that we had all of our belongings. He exuded warmth and sincere care and concern for us!

Stayed in Chicago land toward the end of September 2013. This small hotel is located near the wonderful stores, Navy pier, and lakeshore drive. The area is quite nice so walking is great exercise. We walked down to the Shed Aquarium and back and enjoyed Millennium Park. The Talbott Hotel curb service to help you in and out of the hotel with your luggage is tip top. The upper floors are accessed by elevator. Rooms are stylish, tasteful, and quiet. The lobby has several cozy places to read, relax, and sit in peace and quiet. Restaurant next door, Little Market, is attached to the Talbott, has nice breakfasts with good flavors and some spicy heat if you want it. Overhead is background trendy music to eat by. In the evening, we enjoyed a night cap Drambuie and paired it with a slice of flourless chocolate cake. The day time and evening sidewalk menu is fast and delicious; soup, sandwich and salad combos. A nice slice of Europe in Chicago!

Lovely hotel. Intimate, clean, beautifully decorated and newly refurbished. Always a first choice. If Dwayne helps you from your cab, don't worry - he'll notice if you've left your hat, gloves, or cellphone behind.

Room Tip: Suites at the Talbott are a tremendous value for the area.
