We went to Chicago to see a concert at House of Blues and decided to stay here because it's right across the street. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and very comfortable, but the staff left a little to be desired. I understand that this is a fairly high end hotel and we walked up in our snow boots and coats, but the doorman ignored us and just watched us walk in. The lady who checked us in was quite friendly, but the concierge who helped us with directions seemed confused by the fact that we wanted to use public transportation. I just didn't feel particularly welcome even though I have a high level of membership in the Starwood loyalty program and am a frequent traveler.
On the plus side, the location is perfect if you're going to House of Blues or want to explore downtown Chicago. The rooms are quiet, large, and well maintained. We booked a deluxe room and were on the Preferred Guest floor.More
