“for one night, just OK”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Hotel near O'hare so it is convenient. The room and space appeared clean. There is a shuttle to/from O'hare which is helpful. But as with any airport hotel, you get what you get and I wasn't very happy with everything from this stay.
I had three issues: 1) The early morning (6AM) coffee/cafe service workers were rude and snippy. 2) The music in the lobby and breakfast area at 6 AM was night-club loud and when I asked for it to be turned down a bit I was told "management does not allow us to touch it". Really?
3) The size of the bathroom was uncomfortable. I was on the concierge floor - I'm a Marriott Platinum guest - I actually had to sit on the toilet to put on my makeup. It was difficult to shut the bathroom door while in the bathroom.

Room Tip: check to see if there are rooms with a larger bathroom. If you want a tub, you will need to ask for...

Dear dindee123:
Thank you very much for taking to write about your stay with us. We appreciate all feedback, positive and negative. I do apologize about the comment about the music, we have addressed the response with our staff as this is should not have been the answer to your request. The same goes for the Starbucks staff. Thank you again for your time, wishing you safe travels. Dieter Heigl.

They have a nice pool and fitness center. The rooms are really small. The bed was comfy and the room was really clean. They have no free wifi, and the bath towels are really ruff, no fridge in room either. The restaurant was average but very expensive. No breakfast included.

Dear Patryce:
Thank you for writing about your stay with us. Thank you for your compliments as well as your feed back on what you would to see changed.
Like most full service hotels of a major brand we do bill for services such as breakfast and internet separately from the guest room. From your note I gather that you prefer to have all inclusive pricing when you choose a hotel. There are a number of Marriott brands that will perfectly meet your preference such as Courtyard Hotels, Residence Inn and Springhill Suites. There is a Residence Inn near O'Hare as well as a Springhill Suites (which is located just 1 mile from our hotel.) I can recommend all of them. Thank you for staying with Marriott! Wishing you a pleasant summer. Dieter Heigl

Stayed here overnight when a flight got cancelled.
PROs - Great Staff, Clean, Close to ORD.
CONs - Charge for Wifi, No breakfast, Cost.
First the pros - my wife left her credit card in the room. After discovering two days later, she called the hotel. The card had been found and turned in and locked in the office safe. The director of security verified the info and shipped via Priority Mail back to us at no charge. This is unprecedented service and one we'll be forever thankful for. The room itself was exceptionally clean and well-appointed. Also, it's only about a 7 minute drive to ORD.
Negatives - $12.95 charge for wifi is ridiculous in this day and age (I'm guessing because they can); there are relatively no restaurants around except for the wonderful Gino's East next door. Also, the cost was a little out of line for a close airport property.

Set our reservations via Orbit. Selected this hotel because of the great price, $96 weekend day. The hotel is within 100 yards of the rail system. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly, intelligent, and very helpful. The room was clean and well appointed (5th floor). The breakfast was wicked expensive, though very good. Not many restaurants near. The only negative was the surprise of $27 per night for open parking. If it were covered parking, the price might be justified. Of course the parking fee is NOT brought to your attention, you have to ask. I would return to this location, no problem.

Green Features: Reusing towels seems to be the only environment statement that I found.

The place went through an overhaul in recent years. Looks great. But every time we did anything, we were treated as if we were the very first ones to make the request and they had no idea how to accommodate us.

This started with check-in. Upon walking in, there were two agents at the desk, each helping a guest. Ten minutes later, there was no change. When finally one guest left, we were told that the agent had to change cash drawers and would be with us shortly. Five minutes later, no change. Finally the 2nd agent was free.

My profile requests a feather-free room near an elevator. The agent provided a feather free room, but it was literally the farthest room possible from the elevators. OK.

The pool area is lovely, and I saw that ADA lifts were installed to assist guests in and out of the pool. Being a wheelchair-user, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity for me to learn how to use the device. No luck. Seems both the battery and the back-up battery had no charge.

Then we saw it was possible to order a meal from the bar to eat poolside. We filled out the form (found at a poolside table) and went to the bar. Nobody at the bar had the slightest idea what this form was or how it worked, whether fries or chips came with any of the sandwiches that were ordered. Ends up the BLT comes with chips, the burger comes with nothing.

This was a very disappointing stay and far beneath the not-so-high Marriott bar of service. I'd think twice before going back.

For an airport hotel this was a great one! Nice rooms, excellent workout and pool facilities and wonderful bar and lobby. My only frustration was the ice machine on my floor (6) was exceptionally noisy, even a few doors down. The shuttle is a decent ride. I may opt for other transportation, but it was free. The food was better than expected!
