Just had a return visit to the Majestic, and as always, everything was perfect. Great location, close to wonderful restaurants, Wrigley Field and of course the lake. Wonderful walking neighborhood. We had a small problem with the shelf in the bathroom and it was fixed when we returned to our room. The breakfast was great with fresh fruit and assorted pastries, juices and coffee selection. The ambiance is wonderful, with a cozy Europeon feel. The best is the staff, Mona, who is helpful, warm and welcoming, and everyone we came in contact with. They all gave us great directions and suggestions for great dining. We will always stay there on return trips.

What a great property. The rooms are somewhat small but that is the only "less than fantastic" thing I can say. Nice easy walk to Wrigley Field. Outstanding staff!!! Mona and Tavien were the best. Would come back in a heartbeat and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great boutique hotel in Chicago. Thanks so much for a great stay.

If you love the historical feel of Chicago, this hotel is for you. It is well-maintained and has a warm, inviting feel. The staff was a step above most hotels - very welcoming and professional. I was traveling with four teenagers, and they were made to feel welcome also, which is sometimes not the case at other hotels. The continental breakfast was well-stocked and there was always hot tea or coffee in the lobby.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. We were in Chicago for a sailing event at the Chicago Yacht Club Belmont Station and were only 5 minutes from the venue. At night, we could walk to great spots for dinner and even a washateria for taking care of wet sailing gear. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and very walkable.

I would definitely stay here again.

This is a very warm welcoming small hotel in a great location for convenience; charming lounge/breakfast room, but breakfast was pretty grim, more cheap motel food than what would be more in keeping with the overall feel of the place. What stood out for me were the very helpful staff, especially bellman Cory--he and his coworkers were welcomimg and helpful; they made me feel that they really cared about providing good service and being helpful; the very convenient location, but on a pleasant and quiet street; and the very reasonable prices for the minibar drinks and snacks.

I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed over the weekend with my sisters at this very quaint and quiet hotel off Brompton and Lakeshore Drive in the northern part of the city (Addison stop on the red line). It's set in a very quiet residential area not far from the Red Line, buses or Wrigley Field. We bought a CTA 3 day unlimited pass off Groupon for $9 and took the El and buses everywhere. It was nice being out of the hustle and bustle of downtown when your tired of that scene. The four of us had two rooms and both were on the third (top) floor and neither one had a view...just other buildings. Since the hotel does not have central air, the third floor was very hot. Thankfully the room air conditioners and ceiling fans in our suites cooled the rooms down. Each of our rooms were two room suites, two queen beds and a tv in one room with the bathroom, and a nice sitting area and tv in the other. The room also had a very well stocked refrigerator and snacks that were reasonably priced. The continental breakfast was fine...very continental. There are also no table and chairs, just couches and chairs with end tables so not very conducive to eating. The elevator holds at most 4 people and my sister now knows what if feels like to be in a two person coffin. The bathroom, although dated with white and pink tile, was clean and the shower was hot. If you have trouble with steps, this is not your hotel. Overall this hotel worked for us and I would stay again.

Room Tip: Neither of the two rooms we stayed in had a view but of other buildings. Perhaps request a room fac...

A nice change from chain hotel, The Majestic is located on a pleasant, quiet street a block from the lake, and close to shops, bars and restaurants as well as the train station. The staff was attentive and the bed very comfortable. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the continental breakfast could be improved. The quality of the breads and pastries was poor. The pastries were highly processed and in sealed plastic like those you find in a vending machine. A simple fix would be teaming up with a local bakery. I would be willing to pay a little more for a better breakfast. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

European style hotel; small but very comfortable, clean rooms. Simple continental breakfast; cereals (need more unsweetened cereals), rolls, coffee, tea, juices (again need real unsweetened juice). Nice sitting area with fireplace. Not a good place if you are in a wheelchair; there are steps to walk down into the lobby and up to the elevator. Pack lightly!
Ask for a room a bit away from the elevator.
I really appreciated the robe, the sampoo, soap and otion that were in pump style bottles instead of the those tiny wasteful pastic bottles. Great shower and a hair dryer made it all very pleasent and easy. Front desk person was terrifically helpful.
I parked my compact car in the street about a block away ( you have to squeeze in and be patient about finding a spot), and we walked everywhere for a haircut, a meeting and to a resaurant. If you aren't good at squeezing your car into a tiny parking spot the hotel recommends a parking garage about a block away for $22 with in and out for no extra charge.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a restful stay in the Lincoln Park Area and hope to try their sister hotle - The Willows.

Room Tip: Try hotels .com for a good price. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room for $20 upon arrival...
