Visiting my parents for the week, we decided to visit Château de Bonaguil for the day and needed somewhere on the way to stop for lunch. Having been recommended the place, but not quite knowing what to expect we decided on La Table du Moulin.
On first arrival, we were a bit worried that it might be a bit too smart/expensive for the informal lunch we had planned, but once the menu had been absorbed, it was clear that the €19 menu was good value and that with two of us having that and the other two adults ordering just a main course à la carte, it wouldn't be too expensive at all. Our two year old daughter was offered a portion of home made lasagne.
All the food was delicious and the service was great. Unfortunately for them, we were the only people dining that Monday lunchtime, so we had the waiter's full attention. Delicious amuse-bouches were followed by a small glass of the soup of the day which was equally good. The waiter was also very understanding of our daughter who was having a bad day and very nearly spoilt the experience for all of us. Those of us who had ordered the €19 menu were looking on the puddings as a bonus rather than something we really wanted, but when they arrived we soon changed our view, as they were exceptional.
The chef came out for a chat afterwards and was very friendly. All in all an unexpectedly good meal and a place that we will definitely be returning to.
