Visiting my parents for the week, we decided to visit Château de Bonaguil for the day and needed somewhere on the way to stop for lunch. Having been recommended the place, but not quite knowing what to expect we decided on La Table du Moulin.

On first arrival, we were a bit worried that it might be a bit too smart/expensive for the informal lunch we had planned, but once the menu had been absorbed, it was clear that the €19 menu was good value and that with two of us having that and the other two adults ordering just a main course à la carte, it wouldn't be too expensive at all. Our two year old daughter was offered a portion of home made lasagne.

All the food was delicious and the service was great. Unfortunately for them, we were the only people dining that Monday lunchtime, so we had the waiter's full attention. Delicious amuse-bouches were followed by a small glass of the soup of the day which was equally good. The waiter was also very understanding of our daughter who was having a bad day and very nearly spoilt the experience for all of us. Those of us who had ordered the €19 menu were looking on the puddings as a bonus rather than something we really wanted, but when they arrived we soon changed our view, as they were exceptional.

The chef came out for a chat afterwards and was very friendly. All in all an unexpectedly good meal and a place that we will definitely be returning to.

This restaurant is a prefect place to spend a summer evening. the food promises great things and at moments delivers but ultimately it a restaurant of show not eating delights. the chef adds un necessary bits to otherwise delectable food, like the Salmon tartare had mushroom and tomato, the actual salmon was great but the bits detracted. Equally a beautifully cooked piece of fish was accompanied by pre-prepared veges which were identical for every dish we saw served. Lovely service just needs a better chef or a chef who believed in himself more and didn't try to embellish.Sorry, for me, not as good as other restaurants in Monpazier.

Don't be put off by the location by a caravan site. This is a charming setting and restaurant. Spacious, light and stylish ambiance, excellent service from David. Menu gastronomique was a delight and good value. Local wine selection excellent and reasonable. David also coped with gluten- free requirements readily.

This restaurant was recommended to us us last year and we have now visited three times. Although we live some 45 minutes by car it is well worth the drive! Having spent the morning in Monpazier to have such a first class meal as well makes for a great day excursion. The previous times we chose the standard menu which is priced at e19 and is very good value for money, this time we went for the Gastronomique menu at e29.........well we have a 5 star Four Seasons Hotel near us in England and I think the food at la table is at least as good! There was also a fish menu which looked goo too. I just ask why is it not full....they deserve to succeed.
