We visited especially for my 22 month old daughter to see Santa and every part of this was great. After the shambles of visiting the Chester Rcaecourse Winter Wonderland this was much, much better and a huge improvement despiet this only being a much smaller business. The little procession of characters in costumes on a little train (Pooh bear, a reindeer, a dog and elves) and then Santa arriving on a sleigh pulled by a real reindeer was great for kids and we were given a set time to go visit Santa in his Grotto. The Grotto is well done - a log cabin with a few winter scences inside, a great big Christmas tree and a fireplace scene where the helpers will happily take photos for you (note to Chester - with your own camera so do not charge you for this) and Father Christmas himself was great - very friendly - especially with my daughter who has alway been a bit scared of visiting various Father Chrstmas'. The present she was given was great for her too and felt a good retun on the £4 we had paid and the Reindeer enclosure is good to see - again note to Chester they have plenty of room and looks comfortable for them.
The park itself is maybe a little bit dated and could do with a lick of paint in parts when compared with other similar farm parks I've visited but there were plenty of animals to look at and as we were there specifically for the grotto I'm not overly hung up on that. Yes it seems that the whole place is on a limited budget but the staff were really friendly - the pets corner where they bring out various different animals for the kids to touch and stroke and the chance to bottle feed a goat where great fun for my daughter.
