We spent a few days here on route to see AFC Wimbledon play Accrington Stanley and it was a great choice. Situated on the Chatsworth Estate Pilsley is a small village off the road between Bakewell and Baslow.

We stayed in the Blue room with a view overlooking the gardens of the village. The bathroom was huge, the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was first class, the full English set me up nicely for a 14 mile walk to Monsal Head and back.

We ate in the Devonshire Arms just across the road, a very good menu and beers brewed on the estate. All food was sourced locally.

Really enjoyable, will be back when we play in the area again!

Room Tip: We choose the Blue Room as it was the biggest and had two comfy chairs

Holly cottage is in a beautiful location. We were welcomed with some delicious home made cake. It is clear that Sarah pays great attention to ensure that everything in the rooms make for an excellent stay. Breakfast is superb! More than lives up to its good reviews.

We stayed at Holly Cottage for one night (3rd April2012). On arrival we were greeted, by Sarah with a very efficient and courteous service. The room was well laid out, clean and has one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! The cookies and cake were delicious. The breakfast lives up to its reviews and does keep you going all day (good job as we got stuck in the snow and it took it six hours to get home, for a thirty mile journey!) It was well worth the visit and we will definitely return.

Room Tip: We stayed in the blue room, which is at the back of the house.

Many thanks for your extremely kind review, I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. The Peak District is beautiful at this time of year - perhaps better without the snow though !, sorry to hear about your journey home.
Hope to see you again.

Fantastic hosts ,nothing too much trouble, a cooked breakfast that makes the most of the local produce. More than sets you up for the day. We will be going back when we get chance. The Devonshire Arms Pub is less than a minutes walk and the Chatsworth Gold brewed by Peak Ales is well worth a pint, or two.

My partner booked me a night at Holly cottage as a birthday present, we had a very enjoyable time from the greeting when we entered to the time we left. we had an good evening meal in the Devonshire Arms which was just short walk away, the breakfast was one of the best that I have ever had, its a good job that we had planned a days walking. We stayed in the blue room it was clean with everything working. The home made biscuits were a nice touch. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to visit Chatsworth or the surrounding area. We will hopefully be visiting again this year.

We stayed here for one night with family and had a great night. The B&B is in a lovely little village with a great pub and within walking distance of Chatsworth house and some beautiful walks. The B&B is fantastic with all the little added extras that make your stay all the better like home made cookies in your room and a huge selection for breakfast all freshly prepared and sourced from local producers.

The smallest negative was the two single beds pushed together in the larger blue room which was a little disappointing

Overall a fantastic stay will definitely return

Thanks

If you are visiting Chatsworth and staying overnight don't hesitate - book this place . It's superbly located in a lovely little village with a wonderful pub literally over the road and a short walk to the impressive Chatsworth Farm Shop . It's run (as is the shop and post office which it incorporates) by a friendly and very efficient couple for whom nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean ,comfortable and cosy .The breakfast is particularly noteworthy - I write this at 6pm having had breakfast at 9am and nothing else since but I still don't feel hungry ! The rooms have a cookie jar with homemade cookies which are a treat in themselves . Return visit a cert.
