We booked this for the first two weeks in September, after finally getting our hire car which was a wait of over 2hours we arrived to be greeted by the owner, who gave us a tour of the property. There was a welcome pack of groceries which was most acceptable, as due the hold up at the airport we where much later than anticipated. The apartment was extremely clean, and suited our needs. The only complaint was the bed was quite firm and the air conditioning was an extra 8 euros a night, which we didn't see when we booked online however it was in the brochure so felt we had no comeback. The scenery was stunning, the pool excellent and Giuseppe who was there every day was lovely, lot of the conversation was hand gestures as he didn't speak any English.
We do have an issue with Thomson who we booked it through the information regarding the area shops beaches etc was very limited, we had done our homework before we left so we did know a little about the area. However some local knowledge wouldn't have gone amiss. We also felt a bit out on a limb as the area rep didn't know we were staying at the above property, by sheer chance we were in Cefalu and we recognised a hotel from the website and called in a saw a rep who was very helpful, we just wanted to check on flights home etc, we felt we might just have well booked the holiday independently as Thomson didn't know where we were staying, of course we had the hotline number, but if there was a problem it is sometimes reassuring to speak to someone in person.
We had a really good time weather was perfect and archaeological sites were stunning Valley of Temples and the roman villa awesome.
