I stayed here with my daughter who will be travelling to China at the end of summer, I wanted her to experience a quintessentially British holiday before leaving the UK. On arrival we were welcomed by Alan and Pauline with afternoon tea and encouraged to take part in the village fete at Cold Aston, we also had a fun evening at the village BBQ with live music that evening. We enjoyed several cream teas in the surrounding villages, Stow, Burford, Bourton on the Water and some beautiful local walks. When neighbours and friends dropped by one evening Alan and Pauline asked if we wanted to join them; because we felt part of the family we accepted and shared a truly memorable evening with some lovely people.

Alan graciously took us in last summer when the landlady with whom we had booked canceled unexpectedly. We returned this July, and we found that our experience in Cold Aston was just as wonderful as we remembered! Alan's home is beautiful and his hospitality is very warm and genuine. We also loved the breakfasts he cooked for us at whatever time we requested. Cold Aston is an ideal location for visiting north to Coventry, east to Blenheim Palace, and south to Salisbury and Stonehenge, and it is just minutes from Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, as well. We look forward to visiting with Alan and Pauline again next summer.

This was my second trip. This time with my husband, who was fed up with me singing the virtues of Alan, and Fieldways, and wanted to see for himself. We now sing from the same hymn sheet, and he can't wait to go back, in fact he'd like to live there!!! The warm welcome we received from Alan and Pauline was so warming, and friendly, along with Paddington & Motty. And Alan made his special porage (the Scots way) for us for breakfast, and we initiated some other (USA) guests to it!! An altogether delightful experience.

Room Tip: I've stayed in both the green room (a kingsized bed) and the cream room (twin bedded), and both...

Fieldways is an experience like no other. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or a couple of weeks of relaxation then Fieldways will undoubtedly be the perfect choice.

Firstly the accommodation itself is right at home in the Cotswolds, all made from Cotswold Stone and an extensive house the has a beautiful and well considered decorum throughout.

Most importantly I have never experienced such considerate and comprehensive hospitality anywhere else.
Alan and Pauline were absolutely wonderful. They took us into their home as if we were family and encouraged us to experience everything that the Cotswolds had to offer. They love the area and are very knowledgeable about it. The first time I met Alan he immediately began to hand draw me a map of where to drive!

The food cooked for us has not yet been topped by another accommodation or restaurant on our journey around England.

I cannot urge you strongly enough to book your stay at Fieldways if you are going to the Cotswolds.

Thank you both for the wonderful visit. We hope to come back again.

You get an enthusiastic greeting, grand tour of the property where guests can pretty much go wherever they want, lovely hosts who ensure you really enjoy your stay, and a great dog friendly garden that my Shih Tzu loved. Unlike other places the hosts, Alan and Pauline made sure you were relaxed and had everything you needed and more.
Alan knew the area well and recommended places I could visit with Baxter that were also interesting for me.
Breakfast was when I requested it, plentiful and fresh. I was then sent out with fresh fruit for the day as well.
Lovely and relaxing, nice wine and log fire in the evening and exceedingly quiet (bit of a shock for a townie like me), and plenty of nearby restaurants for evening meals.
Overall a great time was had and hope to return.

This guest house is wonderful with attentive and truly welcoming hosts, Alan and Pauline. Guests are quickly made to feel friends and it is an honour to stay in this lovely country estate home. The location is perfect for rambling and touring the beautiful Cotswolds. Alan's breakfasts are hearty and delicious, served in the welcoming but formal dining room, surrounded by lovely paintings and objects of beauty. The rooms are pretty and comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. Definitely stay here if you love good conversation, beautiful homes and gardens and meeting interesting people. Alan was very helpful, full of interesting information and yet gave guests lots of room to do what they liked. perfect!

I can't stress enough how unusual this B&B is. You can't fault it, you feel welcome , its an amazing property, its clean, beautiful rooms, attention to detail is outstanding, your provided with an information folder that gives you all what you could need and more that you only relies you need when you look at it. Two brilliant owners who simply can't do enough for you. I HAVE HONESTLY STAYED IN WORSE 5 STAR HOTELS.

QUITE SIMPLY INCREDIBLE.

Room Tip: All of them are simply brilliant
