“BEAUTIFUL HOTEL LOVELY PEOPLE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We held our daughters wedding reception at Healing Manor on the 14th June 2014.

From the moment we made an enquiry about the venue we were impressed with how nice the people were and the facilities are first class

The food at the wedding breakfast was superb and served piping hot as was the evening buffet (hot pork buns).

The hotel rooms are excellent and the breakfast menu is impressive to say the least.

The most important thing though is the staff who obviously enjoy and take pride in their work.
We will be returning very soon for a meal.

Thank you to everyone for making the wedding a very special occasion.

Mal and Jayne (parents of the bride).

I would definitely recommend this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights for a wedding and couldn't fault it. The hotel is beautiful, large clean rooms, comfy bed and a good restaurant. We ate it the restaurant the first night and the food was to an excellent standard and very enjoyable. The breakfast and wedding food was delicious too. The bar also has a good cocktail menu.

The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely terrace area at the back of the restaurant.

The best bit about the hotel was the excellent service and the friendly and helpful attitude of the staff. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much of a problem. Particular mention to Andy and Katherine who went the extra mile to ensure our stay and the wedding was the best it could possibly be.

I will definitely be returning sometime in the future, and look forward to it.

Visited as it is just around the corner from us. Excellent location helpful and freindly staff. Meal arrived promptly and was excellent. We did not book a table just walked in. Will be coming back. I think they intend building a seperate bar which is seperate from the restaurant which will improve it no end.

Stayed at the Healing Manor Hotel for 5 nights during last week, the rooms were cavernous, comfortable, biggest bed I have ever seen, excellent views of the grounds.
Staff were exemplary in all areas and the food was excellent, all in all a very very good experience in a lovely country hotel
Pool and fitness room in progress

Room Tip: Choose any of the rooms as they are all excellent, in particular the "yellow room" and &qu...

Stayed here for one night, the hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. The location is peaceful and the grounds calming. Our room was picturesque with a king size bed, wardrobe, tea making facilities and hair dryer. Barhroom a good size with bath, shower and products.
Only things I would like to see in the rooms are towel rails and full size mirror! Another small rant would be the staff were noisy beey early when going up and door the stairs to the kitchen near the bridal suite.

I think the hotel was mainly let down by the service throughout our stay. Check in process was a young guy he was fantastic nothing too much trouble. But during our meals the staff were terrible - nothing a bit of customer service training couldn't fix! Mainly young and Inexperienced not confident and not very quick/taking wrong orders/charging us wrong.

With a bit of training and attention to detail this hotel has scope to be first class and has all the facilities for a great party or wedding venue.

Despite there being some building work going on this hotel was lovely. Large bedrooms, restaurant good but not outstanding but chef is flexible - asked for custard despite not on the menu and although request was late at night it was not too much trouble. Rooms comfy and despite window not closing fully it was a blessing as the hotel radiators were on full whack. Great value for money as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

Recently booked in for a meal on the recommendation of a friend.
Me Brennan would to be established an up market restauranteur, well to achieve that his staffs attention to detail needs to improve some what.
Upon arrival we gave our names and was advised to go through to the waiting area. The manner of the maître de was unfriendly and it seemed a little too much trouble when he came to take our drinks order and had not even presented us with a wine and drinks list which we had to request.
His clothing looked like he had spilt food down his trousers and not changed.
Once our order was taken we were escorted through to the restaurant , my partner had a coat with her which no attempt was made by the staff to take it from her and place for safe keeping. It had to be on the back of her seat.
The one positive I will mention is that the food was good but not ahead of the local competition such as The Ship at Barnoldby le Beck, The Comfy Duck or others I could mention.

Last point ...when people are waiting for cabs please offer them a soft drink or coffees it's such a simple act but goes a long way to the whole dining experience.
Also noted that people are and left so not a venue you would spend all evening at which is disappointing really.
These little touches would improve the whole experience.... Would I go back ? Not in any great rush too
