We stayed for 1 night however we were later arriving (7:00pm) and needed to be out by 7:30 - so didnt really get the full use of the hotel/bar/restaurant - however it did seem very busy and a few conference dinners were running. We did however stay in the bar until silly oclock and Perry was very attentive. Quite pricey for the location but nice to know there is somewhere decent to stay in Southend. Bedroom was beautiful and the "extras" were of a good quality with a lot of thought behind them. We had a sea view - however we were on the corner and bottom floor so we had to look onto the road as opposed to the sea.

Room Tip: We stayed in the beach house - which in fact is another building and makes you feel quite cut off fr...

My wife and I stayed at the Roslin Beach Hotel for the weekend of my 70th birthday. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had an excellent view of the bay. The service throughout was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the food also excellent. The ambiance was bright and welcoming, and the hotel is wonderfully situated for quick travel to London and for ease of visiting any of the tourist attractions and West End theatres.
Locally there are also several enjoyable walks.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea are very bright and spacious

We stayed here due to our friends getting married. Nice venue and rooms were ok, we stayed in a sea veiw room which we paid an extra £30 for. Don't bother to do this the windows are so tiny all you can see is the main road.
I have a massive issue with the payment of this hotel- They check your card to ensure you have moeny on it when you check in. All fine. When we checked out our card was declined a couple of times I spoke to our bank and they said that there was a pending payment on the account for £110 and the hotel was trying to take out another £140 rather than the difference.. I told the hotel this and they insisted that this wasn't the case.
This was very embarassing- in the end I had to leave and call back with another card to make the payment. This has now all been resolved apart from I still do not have my pending payment from when we checked in of £110.. I have spoken to the hotel who said they would cancel it and the bank who still see this as pending!!
Clearly this was the hotels mistake and I am so angry for the embarrasement I was put through and I am still out of pocket £110.

Room Tip: Do not bother with sea view

Many thanks for leaving a review , I would like to apologise for the problems that you encountered when checking out of the Hotel. I have investigated this matter and we do always take a pre authorisation on check in and this is then completed on check out ,Unfortunately for some reason this could not be completed for your booking. I have also checked and can confirm that the pre authorisation was cancelled and at no stage any other money was taken. We do pride ourselves on the excellent customer service we provide and I am sorry that you do not feel you received this. If you would like to return to the Roslin Beach Hotel in the future I would be more than happy to personally deal with your booking.
Kind Regards Jacqui Harris Managing Director

Southend on Sea isn't on the usual tourist trail, but is an interesting place to visit (it has the longest pier in Britain) and the Roslin Beach Hotel is certainly a nice place to stay. Their breakfast was lovely and the staff at the front desk were fantastic when we encountered a problem with a Travelcard we had purchased before we left and Lindsay went out of her way to try and contact the bank for us.

We held our daughters wedding reception in the hotel, the room was superb with views of the sea and firework displa. The staff could not have been more accommodating as we wanted an unusual menu which resulted in the chefs having to prepare 500 portions.Sarah really worked hard ensuring that everything ran smoothly and she gave the elderly members of our family extra special attention. This was a special occasion which the hotel staff made all the better.
The bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard and everyone of our party who stayed overnight received a room discount.

Room Tip: Book room with sea view

We booked here as it was dog friendly. The staff ensured we had a dog friendly table for dinner and didn't flinch when we changed our reservation.
Room was very clean and we loved the little touches.. somethings that bigger hotels miss or skimp on.
Very friendly helpful staff and all very reasonably priced.
a stone's throw from the beach
A lovely weekend stay.
