“a splendid afternoon tea”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

What a perfectly delightful couple of hours spent having afternoon tea at the Roslin. Johnathan made us feel welcome, comfortable and very special. In his words 'we aim to give you a bit of luxury without the snobery'...and he did just that. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty. The sandwiches, quiche and home made cakes, pastries and buns were delicious. My husband and I came with my parents for my mothers birthday treat, she is disabled and uses a mobility scooter. Johnathan made her feel included and comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble. A delightful day, in super surroundings with a great view and attentive staff...bravo Roslin, we will return and let friends and family know how good you are.

I didnt stay at this hotel but experienced afternoon tea and so can only comment on that. We came her for a 3pm afternoon tea which can only be described as beautiful! It consisted of ample sandwiches, quiche, scones, cakes and puddings. As well ample tea and coffee and when I asked for a hot chocolate was not charged on top for which we were happily surprised about! The staff were fantastic very attentive and friendly. My biggest compliment is that they accommodated by 4 month old daughter (who was extremely quiet and well behaved) but we were concerned due to the quiet and calm atmosphere we may come across problems but they couldn't have been happier for her to be there. Will definitely return!

Would like to thank Jackie and Wayne and the rest of the team for giving us Such a welcoming stay me and my girlfriend had on the 30th of December. Our room (305) was clean, spacious and had amazing views across the sea. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food and setting was class A. Overall a lovely relaxing few days away from city life and would recommend highly.
Will be retuning in March.

Room Tip: We had an executive room (305) and found it very spacious, clean with a huge king size bed and amazi...

From the minute we arrived we felt welcome. Having the manager of the hotel check us in and show us to our room was great. It's always good seeing the manager out the front from time to time. We were upgraded rooms, the offered 40% off the the spa. ( best massage ever!!!) The room was stunning , biggest most comfortable bed ever!!! A two course dinner was included in our deal as we booked the January deal. (Great value highly recommend) was really tasty. All staff from check in to the Resturant staff to the bar staff to the breakfast staff to the housekeepers all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy and a beautiful view. Plenty of car parks. This place just felt like home. Don't change a thing. Loved it.

Found a great offer on Tripadvisor link for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast £99 as January Special. Our boiler had packed up and the forecast said frost so we did not hesitate to escape the cold.
We upgraded to an executive king as we like a large bed and got a lovely room with a sea view (room 304). There is also free parking
Well equipped room with Sky Sports on TV-a bonus, comfortable bed, complimentary bottled water and quality Elemis toiletries.
Dinner was excellent and we were allowed £15 pp off the a la carte - great value.
Very nice breakfast next morning - buffet style but with eggs and toast cooked to order.
We will certainly return

Lovely afternoon tea today. Place was packed out with people being turned away, which is a very good sign for January. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice outdoor area to view the sunset. Food was very fresh and tasty - have booked again for my mums birthday in March.

This was my first experience of lunching at the Roslin and I was disappointed. I met up with two friends of mine and we shown to our seats by a friendly and professional waitress. It was a beautifully laid table with a lovely view. The food and deserts were excellent. A thoroughly lovely couple of hours.... Would definately recommend to my other friends.
