Wow, what a lovely place! I was taken to lunch here recently by family members to celebrate a promotion, and was not expecting much of a seafront hotel. But I was astonished by how wonderful it was.
I know one should base an opinion on more than mere appearances, but the hotel is very well decorated, which gives that great first impression. The staff are also fantastically presented - the women behind the desk reminded me of air hostesses, especially with their professional appearance/behaviour.
As for the food - it was excellent. I am personally quite a fussy eater - I am a vegetarian, but I do not eat courgettes (which often appear in vegetarian dishes), and I found a number of things on the menu suitable for my needs, which is not often the case. We also had a celiac in the party, and there were also options for them, which was great.
The staff were really approachable, which is always a great touch. I did not feel uncomfortable, which is also nice, especially when in such a charming atmosphere. In many ways, the hotel feels somewhat 'posh' (a word I hate to use), with the crisp white linen on the tables - not something that is found as much these days, but there was no obvious snobbery.
I will most definitely be returning (especially for Afternoon Tea), and I would highly recommend to anyone!

What a brilliant hotel!

Right on the seafront this hotel is miles better than anything else in the area.

Friendly and informative check-in. The hotel has spa/gym/bar/restaurant - everything you need for a great night.

Huge, comfy, nicely furnished room complete with the most comfortable (and biggest) bed I've slept on for ages.

Awesome bathroom with water pressure so high in the shower that it nearly knocked me over - absolutely fantastic.

Lovely air con in the room was a welcome feature on a very warm night. Massive flat screen TV with its own Sky box. Awesome.

Definitely worth a revisit and I look forward to staying again soon.

We gave a friend a birthday treat of a spa day. Excellent staff throughout the hotel, excellent food (had breakfast and afternoon tea). We had a room to use for the day right next to the spa. The therapists were so friendly and the treatments were so relaxing. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Room Tip: We didn't sleep there but the room we had for the day was very comfortable.

This was our second visit to the Roslin and it didn't disappoint. We had a lovely room with sea view and a little patio area. Hospitality tray and lovely toiletries are all supplied. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

We stay at the Roslin Hotel every June for the Southend Half Marathon and have always had a fantastic time - this year was no exception. They are always friendly and helpful as well being efficient and organised. This year we had a deluxe sea view room which was amazing. Very clean, cosy and relaxing. There were 10 of us for lunch on the Sunday and they were very accommodating as we had a few more people than we had booked for. Although they were extremely busy the service was very good. They also allowed us to use a few rooms to shower in after the half marathon. Definitely recommend the hotel and it's restaurant. Looking forward to next June a already.

Stayed for two nights .. Staff are welcoming and freindley .. stayed in single room which had a en suite shower room and well equiped . my bed was abit too soft for me .. and the room faced the carpark were heard all the going ons despite the notices in the carpark to keep quiet ...
however everything was lovely nicely presented .. freindly welcoming staff .. breakfast layout was amazing and equaly was tasty .. over all i defantly would go back

Room Tip: advice a seaview room or one not over looking the carpark .. but the standard of room does not fault
