“A good pizza joint”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

Even though I have been to the adjoining Space for a musical event, this is my first visit to the restaurant. Street parking is ample and free after 6 PM on weekdays and free on Sundays so this is a plus. The ceiling is high and wide open hence the noise level can be a distraction. It has a section for sitting lounges, the bar and the dining area. I met relatives for Sunday brunch so the menu is broken done by breakfast items and choices of pizza. I ordered 4-cheese thin-crust pizza. It was piping hot and cheesy good. The plate size is big enough that you can share the pizza with others. So I got to taste 3 other pizza: wild mushroom, artichoke and pepperoni/sausage. The pizza is baked in a wood burning oven which is located in the middle of the restaurant. Since this is close to where I live, I can certainly see myself returning to this place and try other dishes on the menu.

“Lively neighborhood place”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

Great pizza - not the usual but nice, fresh thin crust style. Also a great wine and beer selection and don't skip the chocolate cake! If you are seeing a show at Space (in the back) you can get a pizza to bring in there.

“Love to go with a group”
Reviewed 16 January 2013

I love this place for the pizzas, the salads, and the beer list (though I wish they had more on tap). I've hosted team events for work at Union, as well as going with friends and family. The atmosphere is really great, and everyone manages to find something that they enjoy.

We visited this place quite a few times since it opened. It seems many customers are attracted to the ambiance and the design. The pizza's are also fairly good but not excellent. Any other dish on the menu that we tried is mediocre at best and the wine list is also not very good. As far as we understand, this place is owned by the same person that owns Campagnola (also in Evanston). The two are very similar with atmosphere that supposedly compensates for so-so food. Both place are also similar in terms of the noise level. If you visit with friends -- be ready to lose your voice.

“The Best in Town”
Reviewed 7 December 2012

Amazing wood-burning oven pizza exactly like what I've had in Italy. The margherita pizza is simple & delicious, but the lamb sausage with eggplant & olives is absolutely decadent and shouldn't be missed (it was named one of the best pizzas in Chicagoland by Chicago magazine). Killer cocktail & beer list. Great prices in a very cool room with friendly, casual service. Love it.
