My friend and I were actually walking past BB on our way to another restaurant when I just had this *feeling* we should bail on our former plans and go inside. We did, and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in the door, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being invasive. We had martinis and salads to begin--the beet and goat cheese salad is not to be missed. I regret not having tried the cold cucumber soup our server recommended--especially after I heard the diner seated next to me at the closely packed table exclaiming (in French, mind you) over its deliciousness. I had the steak and frites (classic, yummy--was that duck fat?) and my friend had a veggie gnocchi, but the best decision we've ever made was to share a dessert: the creme brulee, flavored with lavender and honey. Go there and tap your spoon through the crunchy brown carmelized crust. Right down into the creamy goodness. You will not be sorry.
