“Second stay as great as the first”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2014

This was our second stay at this property. It is very clean and the staff is excellent. They cater to your every whim.

They are a test hotel for a new menu but it does not show the new menu on-line, or didn't when I made the reservation, so they made us the items off the old menu because that is what we wanted. They didn't need to but they did. That is above and beyond.

The assistant general manager has been there both times we have stayed and he is great. I think if asked, he would carry your luggage to your room for you.

They are very understanding of the disabled and go out of their way to assist in every way possible and listened to any challenges I saw and presented to them.

They placed me close to the elevator both stays to minimize the distance I had to travel.

My husband and I recently stayed the Drury Inn and Suites in Fairview Heights for three nights (January 30, 31 and February 1) while our son competed in a high school bowling tournament nearby. This hotel is clean, well kept and family friendly. The rooms and the public areas are kept spotlessly clean. Our room had two comfortable queen beds with lots of pillows and also had a mini-fridge and a microwave, both discreetly hidden in the console below the television. Every employee I encountered-- the front desk staff, the maintenance and housekeeping staff and the attendants at the breakfast and evening buffets--was genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming. I was able to extend my stay due to uncertain weather conditions and didn't have to change rooms to do so. I was also told that there would be no fee if I just let them know the evening before whether or not I would stay the extra evening.

The hotel offers a hot and cold breakfast buffet in the morning and a hot buffet in the evening (until 7:30). Typical morning selections were Pillsbury biscuits and peppered gravy, scrambled eggs (very fresh), sausage patties, breakfast potatoes, hot oatmeal and waffles. Cold selections included a few cold cereals, small muffins, bagels and breads. The early evening buffet included baked potatoes (with several toppings available), chicken fingers, soups, pasta and meatballs and hot dogs. The afternoon selections varied slightly daily. The hotel also provides guests with a card which you can use to get wine or beer or a mixed drink at the bar in the food area. Guests can get three free drinks per evening per person.

The hotel room included an easy to set feature for an automated wake up call. We had to call maintenance once (the problem was not the hotel's fault) and when we returned from breakfast 30 minutes later the problem had been fixed. The hotel has a pool and a fitness room. I also noticed that if you need to check out a little later than 11:00 a.m. the hotel will accommodate you.

The Drury Inn is located near a busy highway interchange and within easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Other restaurants, stores, movie theaters and gas stations are a short (less than 5 minute) drive away, and it's a 15 minute drive to downtown St. Louis. It's also a 5 minute drive to the St. Clair bowl where the Illinois High School Association holds state finals for high school bowling teams. I could just go on and on about this hotel. I wish there were more Drury Inn and Suites hotels in cities that I travel to more frequently, but I will look for one whenever I travel in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on the fourth floor. Avoid the rooms on the second floor with the balcony above...

We stayed overnight at the Drury Inn & Suites in Fairview Heights (IL). Besides clean and well-kept rooms, hallways, and dining/reception areas, the staff should get not five but six stars! They were uncommonly excellent--and so very, very helpful, considerate, and hospitable. To a person, no matter their job, they personally greeted you--and with a smile. Everything else about our stay--price, value, room, and meals--was excellent. The staff, however, put this stay "over the top." We will plan on staying here again! Thanks--you folks can teach the course on customer care and service!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2013

Due to the recent huge storm, we had a last-minute change to our Christmas travel plans. Searched online for a hotel for the night east of St. Louis, and found this Drury Inn & Suites at an excellent rate. After driving almost six hours through some rough, rainy weather, we arrived about an hour prior to the 3 p.m. check in time. We were warmly greeted by Nick, who checked us in without hesitation, and gave us all the info needed to make our stay wonderful. The entire staff at this location (from front desk to maintenance) were some of the most hospitable and friendly of most any place we've stayed. The evening food and breakfast were a cut above, the room was quiet, clean, well decorated, with a comfortable bed; amenities included a coffee maker, mini-fridge, and microwave.

The location is right off I64, within easy walking distance of several restaurants, and within just a few minutes driving distance of many! It's a fairly busy location by two shopping venues, and entering the lodging's parking lot may be a bit of a challenge at a busy time. This is a very minor consideration.

Our overnight stay was awesome, and this will be the first place we check for lodging when our travels bring us to this area again.

Never stayed at the Drury until this trip. We were 24 seniors traveling to the Colorado Rockies and stayed here on our way back to Tennessee. The hotel is wonderful. They have a great breakfast menu and in the evening they serve a hot meal which usually consists of soup or chili, baked potato, a pasta dish, nachos, chicken fingers, salad, coffee, tea, sodas and alcoholic beverages (limit of 3 per person). Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is usually either bacon or sausage with eggs, choice of breads including muffins, English muffins, bagels and bread (biscuits and gravy). The breakfast and dinner attendants are friendly and efficient. They keep refilling the food so you never have to wait. Rooms are spacious, newly furnished and immaculately clean. All amenities provided. Complimentary newspapers are available. No additional charge for anything. Love it! Will definitely put Drury on our top list of hotels to stay at.

Room Tip: We were in Room 210 which was very quiet and conveniently located.
