“An evening to remember!!!”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We went to Galena for my sister's very special occasion and decided to have dinner here afterwards. They gave us the small private dining room overlooking the Mississippi River and the excellent chef even made her an amazing and delicious cake. The food was outstanding!! We all had slightly different versions of their Filet Mignon. It was out of this world. This resort and restaurant is truly lovely. The servers were friendly and helpful!!! We will be back!!!!

“Awesome experience!”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

We had a WONDERFUL evening of dining at the Goldmoor Inn! It was our first experience there, our friends treated us for our 35th wedding anniversary and my husband's Birthday....and it will be an evening we will never forget! Our server, Sue, was so friendly, knowledgeable, and
went out of her way to accommodate us and our needs. We had the Beef Wellington, Scallops, and the Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallions.....each dish was excellent In taste, presentation, and
quality. We enjoyed the 'old world' atmosphere and wonderful surroundings.....elegance at it's best! The grounds are calming, beautiful, and perfectly maintained. We will be talking about our experience at the Goldmoor Inn for a long time, and recommending it to all of our friends who want a wonder dining experience!! Thank you! Barb L.

“Great Inn For A Party”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

My wife and i have stayed and ate at the goldmoor many times. So when we thought about having a party for our 50th anniversary. We thought what a great place to have a party
We could not have been more pleased. Everything was excellent from the hors d'oeuvres to the dinner and desert.
Great service from all of the staff and everyone else at the Goldmoor. Especially nice was a very nice toast from Patricia who went out of her way to make our night very special.
We had 45 guests and they all had a great time and could not thank us enough for inviting them to such a beautiful place.
All our guests said that we set the bar so high that no one else will be able to top it.
Thanks again Patricia and Tom and staff for making our 50tf a night to remember.

“Outstanding Food, View and Service”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

I can add little to the other five star reviews than to agree with them. All the foods are made from scratch by their excellent chef and it shows in quality, taste and presentation. Beef Wellington (a house specialty) was delicious and larger than I expected. The vegetables were flavorful and properly cooked. Bread and salad delicious (though the salad was a bit small). They even custom whip seasoned butter for their bread. The menu is seasonal and is changed four times a year. The hostess and server were extremely friendly and bent over backwards to ensure you enjoyed everything.

I would not advise this as a place for dining with children. While the dress is casual, the environment is formal and handsome, and the service professional. The one thing to note, that is frequently the case with top level cuisine: although the food is all exemplary, the menu is limited. This is a chef driven dining experience. Three appetizer choices, two soups, perhaps ten dinner choices. There are no choices of side dishes, the dinner plate is set for your entree. My wife and I loved the food and this was not an issue for us, but you need to be prepared. As a chocoholic, the only place I was disappointed with the limited menu was dessert. There were three (quite creative) choices, but nothing richly chocolate. Ah, well, the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake was superb and softened the disappointment. ;-)
