My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last April. The rooms are totally secluded and decorated perfectly. Separate bath. It was so peaceful. Best breakfast we've ever eaten. Sandy was so sweet and made us feel right at home. Their yard was beautiful and in full bloom. Gorgeous art studio right next door. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Book early and enjoy relaxing!

We stayed in Abe's Spring Street Guest House thias past January for our wedding/honeymoon (we got married in the courthouse in Galena)- the customer service as well as the place itself are superb! The owners are the nicest, most hospitable people we came across. The guest house is well kept and has all the amenities one may need while on vacation. Would like to go back there and definitely recommend this spot!

Abe's was the first B&B my Fiancé and I had ever stayed at. We were unsure of what to expect and had the place recommended to us. Sandy is a wonderful host and makes the best French toast and I was lucky enough to get the recipe. We've now stayed there several times and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Galena.
I could go on and on but to sum it up it's a unique, accommodating, and beautiful place to stay.

Room Tip: Albert's Den! Spacious and has a gorgeous bathroom with a claw foot tub and walk in shower.

My wife and I spend the weekend in Galena and stayed at Abe's Spring Street Guesthouse. We stayed in Albert's Glen. It was a very unique guest room, but it was very spacious and comfortable. The room had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We loved the seating area and the cozy fireplace. We also loved all of the wonderful bronze work and tile that was all done by the owner. It made the place one of a kind. The guesthouse was also very close to downtown and on the main road going out to Walmart. I know, you think what, why Walmart... We found this convenient because they had a redbox and could rent a movie for the evening and curl up by the toasty fireplace. Breakfast was excellent. Sandy made an amazing feast for us each day and we really enjoyed visiting with her in the mornings while she cooked. She shared the history of the guesthouse, which was the Brewery in Galena back in the day. We didn't get to meet her husband, but visited their pottery store next to the guesthouse and bought a couple of wonderful pieces. We loved this place and will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms. We stayed in Albert's Glen and it was great.

Based on the previous Tripadvisor reviews, my wife and I decided to try this B & B. All of the reviews are true. This place exceeded our (already high) expectations in every way. Great room, wonderful hosts. A great value in Galena. We will be back.

My wife and I stayed at Abe's Spring Street House this past Valentine's Day. The room we stayed in was awesome! It was almost completely decorated by artwork made by one of the owners (Charles). We had dinner served to us in our room by the owners (Sandy and Charles) which was excellent and exactly what we were looking for in a B&B. The next morning we were served an outstanding home made breakfast and enjoyed speaking with fellow travelers and the owners. Finally, we bought a bunch of wonderful artwork for family and friends from the Stone House Pottery & Gallery--which is owned and operated by Sandy and Charles. We had a great time and highly recommend both the B&B and the Gallery to anyone looking for a weekend get away in the upper midwest. Galena and the surrounding area is also very beautiful with lots of activities (shopping, skiing, hiking) to do near by.

Room Tip: Ask for Albert's glenn room...

"Surprise me," I said when he asked about Valentine's Day. A drive north ended in Galena, with snow-capped steeples and lintels beckoning me to get out and walk. "Later," he said. We pulled into the drive of a historic limestone building on the main drag, and the real adventure began.

Innkeepers Sandy and Charles devoted elbow grease, love, and superb artistry when they converted a historic icehouse into a romantic hideaway, one of only two suites. Talk about privacy!!! The town's famous stairs unfold in this amazing property, as do collector-worthy bronzes, paintings, and sculptures. The Abe's Spring Street experience includes gourmet breakfasts, a private Jacuzzi/sauna room, and tete-a-tetes with a noteworthy local artist and retired schoolteacher who'll query you as to your preferences and tailor your trip accordingly.

Cost-conscious guys like my husband appreciate Abe's Spring competitive pricing and bang for the buck. Oh, the details! You'll find me relaxing in that spa or hand-crafted king-sized brass bed, thankful for folks that labor so MY holiday will shine.

Room Tip: We stayed in the old ice house but hope to try the higher-level suite on our next visit!!!!
