The oldest restaurant currently operating in Galesburg, Illinois on Cherry St.
My grandfather, father, myself and my boys have all eaten here at one time or another. It's filled with with memorabilia of Coca-Cola and many other Americana themes.
Coney Island is a hot dog restaurant that caters to whatever style of hot dog you like. Get a standard Coney dog with their own special coney sauce and special mustard and load on the onions, or grab a Chicago dog with all the fixings. Get them as just the dogs themselves or get them with chips and a soda (sodas are located opposite of the counter.)
Walking in is like a time warp back to the 50's with a black and white checker-tile floor, wood counter with fixed spinning stools, tables for 4 and single arm table chairs. There are other neat things like an old pinball machine.
And...either before you eat or after, step across Cherry St. to Glory Days barber shop for a haircut by the coolest cat in town, Kyle.
