“Menu attractive, food disappointing.”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

My friend and I had hard choices since everything on the menu sounded wonderful. If only the food was as good as it sounded. My Mushroom, goat cheese omelette had very little flavor, the ginger lemon pear dish which accompanied it consisted of unripe thinly sliced pears with no flavor. My friends chicken salad sandwich was dry but her French fries were crisp and tasty. The coffee was good. The busboy was surly.

“A wonderful Geneva restaurant”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

We love this Geneva restaurant and have for many years even as it changes. We were here for a Chicago brewed Lagunitas dinner.

Inspired: the IPAs of Lagunitas!

Service: impeccable

Atmosphere: more relaxed than before yet still quiet enough to hear and relax

Food: the wild boar was amazing!

Return: can't wait

Discovered: been coming here since it was the Twin Door!

“Updated Niche”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We've been patrons of Niche since it opened after 302 West closed. We have followed the chefs and staff for too many years to count, so we know the culinary history. The refurbished Niche is interestingly eclectic, but we miss the white linens. However, the food did not disappoint. Chris continues the tradition of well prepared and beautifully plated dishes. I will say that for the price points, entrees could be a bit more substantial, yet you can't find comparable cuisine anywhere in the Fox Valley.

“Top notch Geneva dining”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

An amazing first dinner last night at Niche. Beautifully prepared and presented food, with a very innovative and bold menu. Excellent wine choices, served at the perfect temperature. Dinner for two with starters, mains, dessert, cocktail and very good $120 bottle of Syrah was $330 after tax and tip. Yes you could get out of Niche for less, but why would you want to? Other reviewer comments about speed of course delivery and closeness of tables are clearly from surburbanites; if you're used to big-city dining, you won't find a thing wrong with this place.
