“Quiet Escape”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

My wife and I stayed here for one night to get a quiet evening away from the everyday hustle. The room was clean and modern. It was definitely quiet especially being on a floor with only six rooms. There was a little lounge area for breakfast the next morning which was very relaxing.

Truly a great stay at the Inn at Water's Edge. Brand new hotel that was extremely nice and had great service. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at, especially for the price. Highly recommended.

We only stayed one night but wish we could have extended it a bit longer. This was such a nice experience! The staff was so nice and the rooms were comfy. We felt like we were at a five star European hotel. The only thing we regretted was not being able to enjoy the lovely restaurant.
Can't wait to return!

I'm happy to hear about your recent experience and are so glad you found us! Thank you for the great review and comparison to a 5 star European hotel. Next time you visit, I hope you do have a chance to experience Waterleaf. We offer an overnight stay and dinner for 2 package that you may want to consider.

Although we only live 10 minutes away, our overnight getaway was a welcome respite. I wish I'd known about it earlier! The furnishings are well-appointed and staff is very friendly. Although it's located in the midst of a fairly built-up campus area with other buildings and parking lots, our room had a nice view of a pond with water fountain. (We got a nice laugh from the statues of foxes on the surrounding lawn - meant to keep the geese away!) An even nicer surprise was the adjoining Waterleaf Restaurant. Unlike the Inn, the restaurant is staffed by professionals, not students. It is a high-class operation with French-influenced but modern cuisine, run the same manager who oversees the hotel operation and a chef who worked with him previously. Waterleaf also serves lunch as well as dinner and both are quite a good value for what would be considered a top restaurant in the heart of Chicago.

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and experience in Waterleaf! While the Inn is more student focused, we do have a professional staff that teaches our students all aspects of operating a hotel. Thank you for taking time to do a review of your stay. Since you live nearby, we hope to see you again soon!!

My husband and I stayed one night while visiting friends in the Glen Ellyn area. What a find. The quiet boutique atmosphere was pleasant and quiet. Staff was enthusiastic and extremely customer service oriented. This 6 room hotel is part of the Culinary and Hospitality Institute at College of DuPage. Rooms overlook a pond and fountain. Windows open and there was wildlife outside with a nice view. Staff offered to make us coffee. Continental breakfast is included and consisted of fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, coffee and juice as well as cereals. Parking was free and plentiful. A key card is required to access the floor with the rooms so it seemed like a very safe place for someone who is traveling alone.

Room Tip: there are only 6 rooms so make your reservations early.

Top quality service and excellent rooms. Beautifully appointed and a pleasure to visit every time I'm in the area. Close to restaurants in Glen Elyn and also has an excellent restaurant onsite. I am a frequent business traveler and recommend a stay at The Waters Edge. You will not be disappointed.

The only thing I can add to the previous reviews is the students. Seeing how the students are getting valuable experience and loving it makes the stay even more special. I asked current and former students working there about the hospitality program at CoD and the feedback was honest and positive. We'll be back.
