The hotel location was excellent and they have a good deal if you are going to Six Flags. The hotel itself was average. It did have a nice pool area. The breakfast in the morning that came with our package was just ok...if it didn't come with our package there would be no way I would pay 11.99 to eat there! The rooms are average, however housekeeping could do a lot better job..the vents in the bathroom was caked with dust, my sister's room had a ton of stuff under the bed, etc.

Thank you for your feedback on the cleanliness of the guest room. That is not acceptable nor is it the norm here. We will share it with the Housekeeping team.

This hotel is beautiful from the lobby to the guest rooms. The pool area is nice as it is away from the guest rooms and is a very large pool. Fitness center seemed a bit small and difficult to find until we figured out it was inside the pool area. The hotel was very busy when we were there but we did not know it as the hotel was very quiet.

Room Tip: The hotel has double size beds not queen size so could be too small for a family with older kids.

We booked the Six Flags at this hotel, which came with breakfast, 2 six flags tickets, and use of the free shuttle. The shuttle was very convenient and close to Six Flags. The breakfast is just the standard breakfast that a lot of hotels provide for free to all of their guest. The room was clean and comfortable, however the bathroom did not have proper ventilation because the ceiling above the shower was rather wet. Also, the front desk staff were very nice, but it was understaffed.

Average hotel with clean rooms. Its a typical holiday inn, nothing too crazy. It's nice that they offer wifi, fitness center, breakfast, shuttle service within five miles of the hotel and have a restaurant onsite. Also right across the street from shopping!

I stayed at this hotel from July 3 - July 5th. The good things about this hotel include the location, very close to Gurnee Mills Shopping Mall (across a large intersection you have to across-Grand Avenue) and Six Flags Great America (have to gross Grand Ave - about 2-3 miles away). There is a courtesy shuttle to take you to near by places (call hotel to find out exactly where the shuttle will take you and to get schedule) but it is better to have a car because the shuttle may not be reliable. There is plenty of free parking.

The room was descent. We wondered about the cleanliness of the bedding and wondered if it had been changed before we checked in. In terms of bed comfort - no complaints. The size of the room was satisfactory - 2 double beds on the first floor. Being on the first floor was good for us because there were several convenient exits available to us and we didn't have to worry about the elevator or walking all the way to the lobby to enter and exit. if your room is at the back of the hotel it is a bit of a walk to get to the lobby. The flat screen TV in the room was very small but the cable channels provided were excellent in that there was such a wide variety, channels like TCM that many hotels don't provide. There is a restaurant in the hotel which is convenient, but we did not try the food there. There is also a small pantry like store, very small, but we just walked in to check it out. It is very small and expensive so you probably won't find what you need there. The size and the condition of the indoor pool was average - not bad, but during my stay it was very crowded and chaotic, which was a bit uncomfortable for me. The young people in the pool were very territorial and you basically had to wait until they left to go in because they took it over. It was the same for the workout area.

The bad things about this hotel:1.) There were many loud, obnoxious, teenagers without parental supervision causing a commotions constantly. This does not make for a pleasant experience. These young people were constantly around the pool and the workout room and their behavior was inappropriate and I felt intimidated by it. The hotel staff should do something about this and patrol the hotel to make sure things are going they way they should and people are behaving appropriately. 2.) The toilet in the room is very loud when you flush it which is pain and you can hear toilets flushing in other rooms. 3.) The walls are thin and you can hear noises from other rooms and you can hear people in the halls - not very peaceful. 4.) As mentioned earlier not sure how clean the bedding was. 5.) There is no refrigerator or microwave in any of the standard rooms which was very disappointing. One of the main reasons I choose a hotel is the availability of a fridge and microwave. 6.) The workout space was not adequate. There were only two treadmills, one elliptical, a bike and two weight areas. So it was very small and there was no room to move. You have to get to the workout room early or you won't be able to workout. 7.) We discovered that there is a cemetery very close by - you can see it when you exit the hotel property. This might be unnerving for some people. I don't like that fact and was unaware of this before booking the hotel.

The fact that it was a holiday weekend may account for some of the chaos and problems experienced, so on regular weekdays or weekends the atmosphere is probably better. My advice is don't stay here over holidays.

Due to my status I was offered 300 points toward a future stay which was nice, but taking all things into consideration and the price paid I would not stay at this hotel again, unless I got a really good deal on the rate. My overall experience at this property was not very positive and I was not particularly pleased with this hotel. I advise finding a better property, one that is not as chaotic, loud or busy.

Room Tip: For easy access a room on the first floor is best because you don't have to worry about the elevator. Also avoid rooms at the back of the hotel because it is a long walk to the lobby. Be sure to check with the hotel about amenities provided, including the shuttle.
