We've wanted to visit Komandoo for years having previously visited Kuredu & Veligandu. Well it was definitely worth the wait, Komandoo certainly didn't disappoint and was far better than we could have imagined. Apart from the fact it's a beautiful island it's the staff that make this place so special, from the cheerful ladies sweeping the paths, to our room host Moosa (amazing towel animal sculptures), barman Vinod, Rasu the Head Housekeeper, Nadhu with her underwater photography skills and 'Magic Hands' Wayan in the spa everyone gave us a 5* service and always with a smile.
Our JBV on the sunrise side was well appointed with lovely products, and little things like cotton buds and cotton pads a nice extra touch. I bumped into Nasu early in the holiday and mentioned I loved Ginger tea and hey presto that evening Ginger and Honey tea appeared in our room. This is just a small example of how thoughtful & helpful everyone is.
Special thanks go to ProDivers in particular Pierre who got us through our Open Water Diving course with patience, encouragement and humour. One of us was extremely nervous and way out of our comfort zone but Pierre's calm manner and non-pressure achieved what I thought would never be possible and we both passed!
My only issue with the diving is that it meant we didn't make the most of the delicious buffet meals as we were eating lite and not drinking! Small price to pay though as we're now planning our next holiday as a full on diving holiday.
So to sum up, the food, drink, room, facilities were fabulous but the main reason you should visit Komandoo is to experience the 5* Staff, I challenge you to find a resort/hotel with a better class of service.
