I'm never quite sure what people expect when travelling to a small pile of sand in the middle of the Indian Ocean.......you will see ants, lizards, Gekkos & bats but that's to be expected! This is probably the smallest island we've been to, but no less special for that. It's not the most modern island but then again you should see the water bungalows! You get what you pay for is what people say but I'd say we had above & beyond what we paid!!! Staff (despite what others have written) were friendly & helpful (with no tipping up front). Our waiter in the restaurant, Rashyd, was an absolute delight & a credit to the island management . Sunset at the bar is a delight not to be missed whether you're there for 5 days or 14. However, for us, what made this an exceptional holiday was the diving & the dive centre staff. The Dive Point dive centre slogan is 'dive with friends' & that's exactly what it felt like. We've done some diving in the Maldives but this was exceptional.........white tip sharks, grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, turtles, dolphins, sting rays, eagle rays, manta rays.....& the small stuff....leaf fish, nudi branchs & even an halimeda ghost pipe fish. We give much thanks to the fantastic Freddie, Andrey, Prisca & Richard. Without those guys (& gal!) although it would have been a great holiday,& would recommend to anyone this was FANTABULOUS.

We have been staying in the water villas. as mentioned in other reviews the island offers 2 types of water villa: old ones are made of wood, new ones are built on a concrete base and are more modern. From all water villas you can easily access the house reef. The house reef surrounds the island for about 75% and it is very easy to reach by snorkeling. we found our room very confortable and clean even though there is little privacy when you are outside on the terrace. the island is small so you can visit it in few minutes. you can easily find some small and quiet beaches to relax. Standard rooms seem correct - in my view it would be preferrable to take rooms on the north/east side (opposite side of the island wrt the bar..) as you get less people walking in front of your room, the beaches are nicer and you get the breeze as well.
So for us, at our 3rd island, the location is fantastic.
We have been diving almost every day, the diving team is really nice and helpful. Dives are adapted to the level of the participating divers and we have been in some really nice places and saw a lot of the typical local fishes. the only point here is that diving is pretty expensive, as you have to rent each piece of equipment + the boat+ the tank filling etc etc. I really suggest to divers to check regularly your bill during your stay in order to avoid bad surprises at the end. To the diving team i have already suggested to propose some cheaper packages with all included (i am sure they will get more customers...)
There is 1 restaurant, offering a variety of food, but in general when they attempt to cook international food it becomes quickly uneatable, so we had mainly salad and grilled fish during our stay and it was OK . a section of the restaurant offers some local/indian food, which for us was good but spicy...
The bar in well located with a nice terrace on the see.
We definitely would come back as all in all we had a nice and relaxing time, we will watch other reviews to see if the weak aspects have improved

Everything you want from a relaxing holiday in the Maldives. Went there with my family celebrating our sons 21st birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. It was fabulous. Great food, service, weather and accommodation. Only criticism was the entertainment would have liked more variation. Altogether a great holiday.

Superb Beach Villas and Water Villas. We stayed in a watervilla and would really recommend that. The watervilla's are more expensive but they are worth it. price we paid, compared with other hotels this is a good.
Water bungalow is a good recommendation when going to Maldives, just adds to the feel of the place. Though the bungalow may be quite old, it seems maintained and with complete amenities. Everyone in the resort is very helpful and friendly

Booked this via travel agency and glad that we chose this island resort. Water bungalow is a good recommendation when going to Maldives, just adds to the feel of the place. Though the bungalow may be quite old, it seems maintained and with complete amenities. Everyone in the resort is very helpful and friendly, but the reception area can do a little improvement. We have full board meals including snacks and drinks, and each one has sufficient variety from appetizers to desserts - very glad too with our constant waiter in the dining area - Rashyd, who has been very attentive throughout our stay. Dive point is also available. The island itself is picture perfect!

Room Tip: Definitely worth it to have the water bungalow

My fiancé and I went for 8 days, whilst there it was my birthday and the staff in the cocktail bar presented me with a cake, our waiter decorated our table at dinner with flowers and candles. I am allergic to coconut ans as many of the foods in the Maldives have this as a main ingredient the Su Chef made me my own separate dish. Personally we cannot fault the service of our waiter Rashyd, excellent service, always polite and attentive. The housekeeper Ibrahim cleaned our room twice a day ..... Our room 249 had a excellent view of the ocean, 4 min walk to the restaurant. The beach is right outside, it's like having your own private piece of the island. We would definatley return to the adaaran. Overall the staff are very friendly and accommodate any needs you may have.

We stayed in a watervilla and would really recommend that. The watervilla's are more expensive but they are worth it. Club Rannalhi is one of the cheapest resorts with watervillas. The price difference is big with similar watervillas at other resorts. So for the price we paid, compared with other hotels this is a good deal. The food is good, nothing special but good. The drinks are only included at the restaurant and the bar. In the watervuillas you get two 0.5 liter water bottles per day complimentary of the hotel. The drinks in de minibar you have to pay for. The personnel could smile a little bit more but the service is ok.

Room Tip: Go for a watervilla!
