Owner description: Time your visit to this outdoor attraction during low tide. Crosby Beach to the north of the city hosts 100 iron figures cast from the artists' own bodies then erected over a three-kilometer area. Anthony Gormley's simple yet remarkable installation is especially rewarding at sunset.

A very bleak experience in every way. Not sure if that was Anthony’s message. Not helped by it being f****n freezing. Never been so cold in all my life. I though I might even die. Another place is a very good idea.

This installation looks and feels different every day. I never get tired of seeing the statues emerging from the sea and sand.

We arrived when the tide was on its way out so after a good walk we were were able to get on the beach and get a bit closer to the statues. Shame about the tat attached to them - dog collars, t-shirts, bracelets. Why three stars? They are what they are - a parking charge attraction for the local council.

One of the best and far reaching must see attractions on the Mersey estuary.Mind boggling especially at high tide.

Visited here November and was stunning
The beach itself is very peaceful and clean, there is a cafe a short walk away and a nearby park
There are several places to park with a fee which is reasonable
Worth a visit however could imagine is better in summer
