“The location's not great, but the price is right”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

Very nice hotel for a good price. No microwaves in the rooms, but there's one in the lobby. Didn't try the gallery menu or whatever it's called, but I had one of the gourmet cupcakes and it was great.

Only negative thing really was this short yet bizarre experience right after we checked in. We got into the elevator and headed up to the 6th floor where our room was, but it stopped suddenly somewhere around four. It didn't move for a few seconds, but then returned to the lobby and when the doors opened, this Asian guy (a hotel employee) said something to the effect of "Alright guys, get out," without any explanation whatsoever as to why he stopped the elevator. So we just took a different one upstairs and everything was fine from there.

All in all though, it's a great hotel that I can certainly recommend.

This hotel is great for families that have more than two children. The sectional pull out sleeper is spacious and helpful. The staff were very friendly and always greeted us as we came and went. Our only complaint was that it seemed to be understaffed at breakfast in the morning. They had a very hard time keeping up with the demand of the breakfast rush. Probably need to add one more person!

I always look for a Hyatt Place when I travel and for this repeat trip to Chicago I chose this location in Itasca again. First, we got a great rate (booked directly thru their website). Second, we know what we're getting at Hyatt Place - great service and rooms, with an excellent free breakfast. Yes, it's a ways out of downtown Chicago but the great rate more than made up for the travel time to and from the city. Even with the high parking rates in the city I saved money by staying in Itasca. The hotel is close to the highway but in a quiet area. There are a couple of casual dining options across the street but in Chicago you're never really far from excellent food options. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Internet access is free. The flatscreen TV is large and has lots of channels (if you're not out enjoying all the Chicago area has to offer). We stayed 4 nights and every time we returned from an outing we were greeted by staf with "Welcome back".

The hotel is newer with nice big Studio suites that have a living area, sleeping area and a desk; there is free WIFI that has descent speed. The bathrooms have all been re-done with large showers (no bath tubs), there is a bar area with a single cup coffee maker, but no microwave. There was also a safe and ironing board with iron.
There is a breakfast, but it’s a bit of a zoo and the staff had trouble keeping up will all the people. On three visits for breakfast, there was never once a clean table. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. There is lots of parking and the hotel if only a few minutes from the freeway.

We found Hyatt Place in Itasca to be an excellent spot for our family's 2 day stay in the Chicago area. The location was a little out of the way (in a business park) but very safe and quiet. The breakfast was excellent, room was very cłean and spacious, pool was delightful (needs a clock in there though), fitness center was small but machines were high quality and well maintained. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and we will be back next time we are in the area.

When we travel my wife and I generally stay at Hyatt or Marriott hotels, and we a pretty familiar with the Hyatt Place line of hotels. This is the second time we have stayed at this Hyatt Place and would say this is pretty much what we would expect to find. The location is okay for us, outside of the city, near Schaumberg, but not too far that it is inconvenient. In fact, I suspect it's location is a reason we have found such good rates. For the price I would have no problem staying here again in the future.
