Had a great stay at the Ivy Cottage, lovely setting with beautiful grounds and view points of the valley. Liz was a great host who couldn't do enough for us, proper character! We wish we could of stayed longer but alas had to move on to the next destination. Looking forward to going back again soon in the not too distant future, but next time round will stay longer than the 1 night!

This was supposed to be a last minute break away from our busy lives in Northampton , in which the owner of the Ivy Cottage helped turn into a short holiday far better than we could have expected.

The cottage is like a slice of paradise beautifully built with real love and care and the grounds look like they have been taken from Country Homes Magazine. Views of the proper English cattle pastures below, the visiting animals, the well kept pond with huge Koi and Goldfish, and a rainbow field of plants and flowers. I only use hyperbolic language because words don’t do it justice.

As far as we can tell there are two rooms available at the Ivy Cottage one slightly bigger than the other but both with en suite bathrooms and décor that is homely but not too kitsch.
The best part of the Ivy Cottage is Liz Edwards. She is the grandmother you may have been lucky enough to have had, if not just visit Luxulyan, Cornwall and get your share. She will cook you a great British breakfast, and will keep offering to feed you beyond full. She will regale you with stories of the area, the best parts of Cornwall but will respect your privacy. So in Liz Edwards’ and the Ivy cottage you get everything a faceless hotel cannot and will not provide.
As with everything this haven needs a little of your hard earned money to keep going, so get going so that I can keep coming.
I rate this 11 out of 10.

Room Tip: The larger room's bathroom plumbing is only slightly nosier than the smaller room but it is wort...

My husband and I were visiting Cornwall from Canada. We found the Ivy Cottage on the internet and stayed for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our lovely room. It was very clean and functional. Liz and John were great hosts. Liz even did my laundry the first night. The gardens are spectacular and peaceful. It was a real extraordinary get-away. We were sad to go. We felt as though Liz and John were our grandparents and we were visiting for the weekend. The breakfasts were really good with a wide variety of options. The pub is just a 10 minute walk into town. On the way you pass by a horse, a cemetery , a church and a school. It really was quite lovely. Would recommend it to family and friends.

My partner and I stayed for two nights, only wish it was longer.Wow, what a hidden gem on the side of a quite village,a well cared for garden and property. Liz and John are great hosts, full of local knowledge on where to go for dinner, visit, roads, etc. Cairn, our room was clean, good size,en-suite was big. The weather was great when we stayed and Liz and John went the extra mile to give breakfast outside on the patio. What a beautiful environment to start your day. The cooked breakfast was amazing, what a choice and selection. Coming back late in the evening showed what thought went into the night lighting, walking down the drive and lights coming on\off as you walk into it's field. We feel Liz and John treat their guest more like distant family then only customers.
If you get the chance, we highly recommend, it's a great place to stay.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights when attending a wedding down the road and we really couldn't have asked for anything more. This little B&B was beautiful. The outside gardens were stunningly manicured and obviously loved very much. Our room was clean, cheerful and provided us with every luxury we could have asked for, including stunning views. Liz and John were the kindest and most friendly hosts we could have imagined and their hospitality was second to none - they were helpful, courteous and cooked fantastic breakfasts! The cottage itself, and the surrounding area is the stuff of postcards. If you get a chance - go here! It's beautiful.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Ivy Cottage and were simply blown away by the hospitality of Liz and John. We chose this cottage as it's perfectly located for visiting the Eden Project and ideal for getting around the local towns. But what really made our trip memorable was meeting Liz and John and being able to stay in such a lovely well presented cottage. The breakfasts were brilliant and the garden is beautiful to sit in. The room had a lovely view and was extremely comfortable. If we ever visit the area again we will definitely be staying in Ivy Cottage!!!
