This is a great pub for everyone. The food is great really warming and filling which is what you need after a long days walking. Is summer it can be hard to get a seat in the evenings but stick it out its worth it. Lots of people camping come here for dinner from the local campsites so it's very family friendly. We had the lamb, cheese board and the Eton mess - all perfect!

While in the Lake District for a week we had a lunch and a dinner here. There's a good selection of real ales to choose from, and the food in hearty. For lunch I ordered a chiabatta sandwich, whic I would have expected to be warmed, instead it was grilled/toasted which made it very crusty. For dinner I had a curry off the board which was very good. The prices are quite high, almost London prices. The pub is popular with walkers and trippers, and can become very busy at times.

Only a small review really - popped in for a pint after a long walk and it was £4.20 for a pint of Jennings!! That's a bit steep, even for the Lake District, never paid anything like four quid anywhere else.
