Visited Blackbeck Tarn with hubby and twin 14 month old boys for a week long break. This was our first trip to the Lake District for a holiday and when researching in advance the options for accommodation were vast. We stumbled on this little beauty on Trip Advisor and something just said this was the one. Our instincts were not wrong this place is a real gem!! We were sent instructions to find the site which were excellent including pictures of landmarks on route (very helpful thanks). On arrival first impressions couldn't have been better the setting was beautiful surrounded by trees, set back slightly off the road through the site with a totally enclosed decking area around the front and side of the property (superb and secure for our toddling monsters). The kitchen was very well equipped, good sized oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. All the pots, pans, plates and cutlery you could ask for (hubby cooks a lot and was pleased to find sharp knives his only complaint was the vegetable peeler but trust me if that was his only issue you did something right). Everything was clean and tidy and looked pretty much brand new. We thought we might struggle for space with two travel cots but having moved the double bed slightly we all fitted quite nicely. We walked into Ambleside on the 2nd day that's a bit of a trek carrying two little ones on your back. Overall location was superb for walkers. On site swimming pool was small but ideal for some relaxation after some long walks.
Can't wait to come back as soon as our dates are available to book we will be reserving for 2017. Special mention for Heather thanks sooooo much for answering all our questions before we came keep up the good work see you again soon!!!
Just returned from a very relaxing trip in the Lakes with our dogs to Neaum Crag. The cabin was excellent, spotlessly clean, two bedrooms, and a nice open lounge / kitchen area that leads onto a secure balcony which was great for the dogs to be able wander around, but not wander off!
Onsite there is a pool room, with sauna and steam room and wifi which is a bonus. We met the new site managers who were very friendly and informative, gave us directions to a local pub for dinner (dog friendly) and within in walking distance, which meant we could leave our car.
The Cabin was minutes away from Loughrigg Tarn, with spectacular views and to top it off we got some rare sunshine. I will definitely be returning!
