“Little Haven”
Reviewed 14 September 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband and I rented the cabin for a week in June, the booking process was simple, with plenty of communication from the lovely landlady Susan.

On arrival we found a lovely cabin located near the top of the site, Susan had left us a welcome bottle of wine which was a lovely touch.

The cabin is equipped with everything you need for your holiday, instructions left to show you how to work the equipment, books and DVDs should you fancy a night in with your wine!
Or a BBQ outside if you want to sit on the large balcony, and enjoy the views,

It has everything for that peaceful getaway, the only thing we would of changed would of been the weather, as we chose the week with the rain and storms.
But it didn't stop us checking out the local towns and exploring the beautiful countryside .. We will hopefully return again soon !

“What a perfect New Year!”
Reviewed 2 March 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We had the most amazing time at Moss Eccles Tarn......considering it was the worst weather ever!! The cabin was beautifully clean, well equipped and so cosy, comfortable and homely. Our 8 year old twins were so made up with the Christmas tree and decorations. It is in a great position on the site, right at the top, great for the dogs, you can just walk out and be on a footpath. The wifi was an added bonus, kept the kids happy! We loved it so much, we've booked to return in the summer (in hope we might get some nicer weather!!)

Brilliant holiday! Wooden cabin comfortable, clean and well equipped. Very homely, would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Ambleside and the bottle of wine was appreciated.

“Brilliant holiday”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Travelled with husband, 2 children and 2 dogs.
The cabin is in a stunning location with a variety of walks immediately from the door. I don't think the photos do it justice, it was far nicer than we expected. Very peaceful. Also it is a central location to easily access all of the Lake District. The site itself is lovely and peaceful and feels very safe. The pool area is small but we enjoyed it, and also tried the sauna which was good to unwind in after climbing the fells. We would have played table tennis but amazingly the weather was too nice! The couple running the site were friendly and helpful, although the shop didn't stock much. We bought the book of short walks from the estate (left in the cabin) which was nice - although the mileage stated on some of the walks was way out - we should have looked at the map but one 3 mile walk was 8 miles, kids not impressed!
The cabin itself was great, had everything we needed from the kitchen to bedrooms - and we loved the welcome bottle of wine. On the sunny evenings the decking area was lovely.
Susan was brilliant - quick to respond and supplied helpful information without being asked.
Altogether a fantastic holiday, enjoyed by teenagers, dogs and parents!
Locally we enjoyed eating at Chesters, everything there was delicious but it was a little busy. The Brittania at Elterwater was our favourite local pub, every meal we had there was good and the staff were very friendly.

I have nothing but positive comments to make on this rental!

From beginning to end Susan was so helpful, trustworthy and kind, providing us with lots of information and constant communication throughout.

Moss Eccles Tarn itself was immaculate and had everything we needed! Everything was of excellent quality from the oven to the towels to the beds! It was made to feel very homely and was decorated wonderfully. The decking was very secure which was great for us as we had our dogs with us. Views from the cabin were also just beautiful, so if you just fancied a day in the cabin itself this was just as good! My partner unfortunately had a broken leg on this trip, but even though he didn't get out very much he still just enjoyed being in such wonderful surroundings.

The location was fab! As it is right at the top end of the park, as soon as you step outside you can go for amazing walks with breath-taking views! The whole park is beautiful and not your 'typical' holiday park where cabins are set out in rows, so you're often on top of each other and not much privacy etc - the cabins at Neaum Crag were dotted about and on different levels, not too close to each other and in and amongst lots of trees, ferns, foxgloves etc - it was just beautiful. There is also the convenience of the shop, laundrette and swimming pool on site, which is literally a couple of minutes walk away. You can also walk down to Skelwith Bridge which has Chesters café and the Hotel which are all dog friendly. In fact when we went to the hairdressers in Ambleside they even had their dog in there! So if you're looking for a dog friendly place, this is your spot!

I cannot say enough good things about this booking from start to finish. So if you are looking for a reliable owner, clean, well equipped cabin at a very reasonable price in a beautiful, quiet location, then this is your booking!

Thanks Susan. We will certainly be coming back to Moss Eccles Tarn in the future!!

Best wishes
Dave, Sarah, Ruby, Jackson & Ted

“Superb place to stay”
Reviewed 18 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

On arrival it struck you what a beautiful, quiet and scenic place this was, a good start. Once we entered the cabin it was spotlessly clean and tidy and had everything in it you would ever need, including a bottle of wine from the owner what a nice touch, a perfect base in a perfect place for our break. Our communications with Susan the owner were excellent, all our questions were well answered, this lovely cabin did not disappoint. To conclude I can find no fault or complaint whatsoever, I would quite happily recommend this to anyone and we will most definitely be returning, this was without doubt real value for money thank you Susan brilliant

“We will definitely be going back!”
Reviewed 14 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A gorgeous lodge, with everything you need. Was like a home from home. Location is amazing. The shared pool was great. My partner and our child loved going playing in the pool. Bed was very comfy too. Loved all the little wildlife on the site too. We went into Skelwith bridge for tea. Was delicious! 10 mins from Ambleside and 20 mins from Windermere. Great location.
