“Great location for navy graduation”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

Ten minute drive from base. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced. Call actual hotel to book. I saved a $100 by doing this. If renting a car enterpirse is within a five minute walking distance to pick up car. They offer a shuttle service for the day of graduation- $6 roundtrip. Juan with Elite Taxi Services works out of this hotel. Very honest man, who will pick you up from Milwaukee or O'hare airport (You must call him ahead of time). Hotel will give you his number. I was able to call him through out our time there for places to go, directions etc...

This was fine for the graduation, it was close to the naval base so it was a quick drive. The room was clean, but no locks on the bathroom doors...kind of uncomfortable because we were staying with family and friends.

My husband and I stayed here for our son's Navy graduation on 10/10/13. We picked this hotel for the convienence being close to the base. It all began our first night. We were very tired after traveling from Colorado. The front desk girl was very pleasant and let us choose which floor we wanted to stay on. We chose the 2nd floor. Came to our room, very small, but we were here for our son, not luxury, obviously. We got ready for bed, pulled down the comforter and sheets, and there was a huge, size of a sml dinner plate, blood stain on the bottom sheet, that had gone down to the mattress. We called the front desk to complain. After waiting for 45+ mins. a man brought us new sheets, (we had already stripped the bed ourselves, including the mattress pad). He left us with the sheets, which we made the bed ourselves. We flipped the mattress over only to find the other side was stained with obvious old urine. We finally got to sleep for 4 hrs before getting up for graduation. On our way out, the breakfast was the usual continental stuff, bagel etc, fine for a quick bite on our way out. When we got back that afternoon, the room was cleaned and everything seemed OK. We decided to sleep in the next day, so we left the do not disturb sign on the door. We could hear the vacuum and cleaning going on, but they did leave us alone. We left the room at noon, which my fault, I didn't go by the front desk and ask them if they would clean our room since we were just leaving, so it never got done. When we arrived back that evening, we called down to the front desk to ask for clean towels. After waiting for an hour, my husband went to the desk himself and picked some up. The front desk man said they were out of wash cloths and hand towels. Really, a hotel out of towels.... We also ran out of toilet paper, which we had called the desk twice, and made 2 trips to the desk only to hear they would send someone up with some. We waited until 1am, and no one ever came up. In the morning, by this time, we were out of kleenex's because we used them for toilet paper. My husband again went to the front desk and they told him they were out of toilet paper and gave us another box of kleenex's. ARE YOU KIDDING ME......A HOTEL OUT OF TOILET PAPER..... The whole time we stayed there, it was obvious that the hotel was not full, hardly any cars in the parking lot. Now I know why. The front desk could have easily gone into an empty room and given us their towels and toilet paper, but never did. If you decide to stay in this dump, I suggest bringing a extra roll yourselfs. The staff is very unattentive. One last thing, to put the icing on the cake, if you stay here, make sure you review your bill on check out. They tried to charge us for the safe in the room, which we seriously never even touched. After getting very upset, they did remove the charge but never compensated us for the sheets, no towels, and no toilet paper inconvience. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Shop around if you're going to graduation. There are much nicer hotels not far from this one, and probably well stocked too.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

I stayed at the Sleep Inn for my brother's Naval Graduation in August 2013. The hotel is clean and comfy. We had a two-bed room that fit comfortably 4 people. We didn't use any of the added features, therefore I can't really say if they were good or not. The complementary breakfast was not varied (sausage, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt and coffee), however there is a McDonalds, a Subway and a gas station walking distance. Also, the diner across the street had good prices (~$10 a plate) and great service. The sailor gets 10% off. The shuttle to the base is $3 per person. We took the 6:00 am trip and we got to the graduation extremely early. Since the sailor only had three guests, they put a big tv in the hotel with the graduation for anyone that couldn't go.

We choose to arrive at the Milwaukee airport because it's smaller and less busy than O'Hare. Since my brother was going to stay for A-School, he had liberty for the whole weekend. We took a taxi (Juan Perea 847-980-4537). We just met him and we loved the service he gave us during our whole trip. It is very hard to find a trustworthy taxi service but Juan was humble and honest with us. He charged $85 from the airport to the hotel. For all of the other places around North Chicago, he had reasonable rates. He helped us understand how the process was going to be like for the sailor and the family during the weekend. He knows the rules and regulations of the base completely. Every thing he recommended, we could confirm later on. We are very pleased with the service and I definitely recommend it!

We stayed here for our daughter's Navy graduation on 8/23. The hotel was clean & very close to the naval base. The door to our bathroom wouldn't open or close easily & I did tell them about it but other than that, we had no problems so everything else was fine. The free breakfast was nice. I think we would probably stay here if we ever visit again.

We stayed here for my nephews graduation from the Navy on Aug, 2, 2013, The reviews were mixed, I booked anyway. The hotel was clean, staff helpful and friendly and the best part was that the beds were actually comfortable. I would most definitely stay here again, and recommend to others. The best part was that it was a mile from the Navy base.

The staff replaced our ac unit when it wasn't working with a brand new one. This hotel is nothing fancy, and the rooms are fairly small, but it was clean and very close to the naval base. It was a little expensive, I thought. They do have nice shady grassy areas around the hotel. A nice addition would be some tables and chairs.
