This long time establishment in the heart of town is known for its laid back and casual environment. The decor is simple and the dining area, which is family friendly, is separate from the bar. The main attraction on the menu is the burger, which is now larger than in the past. There are several options including a Make Your Own which I prefer so I can choose my own toppings. Other menu options include flatbreads, BLT'S, baby back rib dinners, and Shepherd's Pie. The French fries are always served piping hot and they now make homemade potato chips. Service can sometimes be slow as it can be unpredictably crowded at times. In addition, it can be crowded with families with small children, making it quite noisy. The Lantern is still a bargain with a variety of menu options for a quick bite in the heart of town.
