“Nice Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Called in for lunch hoping for a roast - beef and lamb on offer so we had one of each. Interestingly the beef was £1 less than the lamb but there was a lot more of it AND a Yorkshire pudding!! The lamb was meagre in comparison and also very fatty; when the waitress came to ask if everything was alright I mentioned the excessive amount of fat and she promptly brought me out some more meat with extra gravy so full marks to them for that! The meal was nicely cooked, there were plenty of vegetables. it was nice and hot and very tasty, so will call here again.

Incidentally, we sat out in the beer garden as it was such a lovely day but it was spoiled somewhat by a loud family and a very unruly child going up and down past us and past other diners in a plastic car, this continued for the whole of our meal and it was extremely irritating! Not the pub's fault but I do wish people would keep their children under control and consider others - not everyone wants to listen to noisy children or the details of others' lives!!

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Bere Ferrers on the awe-inspiring Bere peninsula in West Devon this amazing village pub is pur and simply, home from home. The Olde Plough Inn dates back to the 16th Century and presents it's character & history beautifully.

Meet Sarah the delightful Landlady, a joy to behold ~ with the most beautiful, warm & welcoming smile. Her gift & your joy is that she makes you feel you have just walked into her home, where in one way, of course you have! Polite chit chat follows, an informed suggestion for a delicious draught ale, OMG they're all so delicious, seriously... (hey I didn't drink them all you know!!) lol

A cosy place by the roaring log fire or a moment of pure pleasure with Sarah's lovely dog sets the most pleasurable chill-out ~ home~from~home moment just lovely.

With a wholesome menu of TOTALLY AWESOME home made food, with local fresh produce, delivered to you with style, the seafood here is simply divine ~ yes every mouthful is simply heaven on a plate...

You'll find really great company here too, warm & convivial chat's with the local's keen to share the secrets & beauty of the local area. A great place to discover pure joy, local history and magnificent service from beginning to end ~ & yes their is one problem at The Olde Plough Inn, you won'y ever want to leave it's so AWESOME...

Really cool local musicians & bands perform on some nights bringing the ambience of the evening.to another level. Again, one word best describes the best pub in Devon ~ AWESOME.

“St. Valentine's Meal”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

Four of us had a St. Valentine's meal at the Olde Plough Inn this month. The menu was good, a nice selection of starters, mains and desserts, three courses for £20 each (we went without the wine). A nice touch was red & white tea lights on the table and the service was very attentive. A very pleasant evening, well worth a return visit.

“great food”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

We have friends and family in the area so frequent the Plough every month or so. There's always a great variation of food on the menu that always tastes great can't say I've had a bad meal yet and I've had a good few . And the staff always appear friendly and sociable. Never had to wait long periods for our food even on busy times. This is a family run pub with a lovely atmosphere, the beer gardens I good size. And in the winter months there's always a nice warm fire to cosy up by in the bar.
