Description: The Old Station Hotel has had a full Refurbishment and re-opened on December 09th 2013. Our Menu's include a variety of different dishes and don't forget to check out our Chef's Specials board. All our food is sourced locally and prepared fresh on the premises. We are family friendly and can cater for a bite to eat or an evening meal. We serve food all day every day and look forward to seeing you soon!

Now I dont do,as a rule,waiting 30 minutes for my meal.After a busy day,Ive NO time for waiting,lingering or dithering.BUT,seeing a sign proclaiming a "30 minute wait for food",on the counter,i did,this once chance it.Why?.Well being shattered after a busy week,and as I quite like the venue,I just went with the wait,this once.
The food,Steak and Kidney pie, chips and peas, and Fish Chips and Peas,in our case, was,as ever good.from the 2 for £9.00 menu. The food arrived in around 20 minutes in the end.

Now the thing to know about this pub is,its a PUB.So if you want a quiet meal, give it a miss.If theres a Soccer of Rugby match on the TV screens, then CERTAINLY avoid it,unless noisy yelling punctuating every goal scored, missed etc is your thing. The locals are NOT quiet. Its prone to noise.

That-said,the staff are VERY friendly, the food is great, value is good. So,We reurn again and again.Above all its EASY ACCESS for disabled folks.

Always wanted to try the place but never did until 1/03/13,but i wished i would have gone straight
past, I ordered the ranch steak and was asked if i would like an up grade to a better steak, which i accepted. It was supposed to be a med/rare which was fine but the steak was very grizzly and un eatable,so i sent it back, the replacment came and i was supprised to find it had changed from a steak which i paid extra for to a gammon,by this time i was hungry and acceped the gammon which was very nice, but was not offered any refund for the steak i did not get.
So if you ever go there for a meal maybe you should ask for a supprise meal and see what you get.
It was quite funny if i was not so hungry and a bit pressed for time.

We have dined there several times. The food is good, varied menu. The 2 meals for £9.00 is a very good rate.It applies to certain dishes only ofcourse.

The Variable is service. The standing in line to order food while staff run both bar and food ordering counter is hit and miss.If theres a soccer match on the tv,forget it.the place is a no-no,in my view. The service just goes to pot. So,in my view a meal there is ok at the off peak time.Consult sporting fixtures listings before you risk it for a meal.BUT,they do have friendly if too few (at peak times) staff. Its a nice pub..
