There are several Japanese restaurants in the area. Sankyu is among the most authentic. Mostly Japanese clientele with a wide variety of specials. The sashimi is fresh and they will adjust their menu accordingly to the season.
I would highly recommend the tempura ninniku (garlic) and pork cheeks. The tempura soft shell crab is also excellent (may be seasonal).
The tatami area is more traditional. No cut outs for your legs. If that doesn't suit you there are many tables and also a sushi bar.
