I went to Northumberland on my motorbike, tent loaded but was unsuccessful in finding a campsite. Turned up at the Gun Inn as it was getting cold and late on a friday night and I needed some warm food.Food and Black sheep beer was nice and I enquired if they had a room available, luckily for me they did. Mick and Liz were very welcoming as were the locals and my wife and I had a good evening in the bar. Unfortunately they didn't have a room for the Saturday night but were more than happy to help find somewhere else(very local !) The cooked breakfast set's you up for the day. Also nice to meet Buddy, the pubs friendly dog :-)

Much nicer atmosphere than hotel chains, its a pub that's at the heart of its community so if the village is having an event best to just join in!

we stayed at the gunn for four nights. a very warm and friendly welcome was given by liz and mike on arrival. the rooms are clean and comfy. the full cooked breakfast was to die for and bar and resturant meals are plentifull and very good quality , you sure get plenty of grub for your money. the staff are very friendly and more than helpfull. a good choice of lagers and real ales and plenty of choice where the wine is concerned. locals are very friendly and we had a good day at the village fun day and a good evening at the kareoke that was held in the bar. views are stunning from the pub and especially from the resturant.. a stay at this b&b is really recomended even if it is for one night on route to another destination. we will be staying at the gunn again. simply the best in northumberland.

We arrived late and received a warm welcome and after settling into our room enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal made by the lovely owners Liz and Mike.
Fantastic views of beautiful Northumberland from our bedroom greeted us the next morning, and a generous cooked breakfast followed.
Liz and Mike could not have been nicer.
For those of you who want to avoid 'corporate' hotels seek out this gem and join in.

We were 2 couples & booked at very short notice. We arrived around 9.00pm but nothing was too much trouble for Liz & Mike.
We had a lovely pub meal followed by a few drinks in the bar and a game of pool where we were made most welcome.
The accomodation has a homely feel to it, I'm used to chain hotels and not used to B&B but the highlight for me was the personal attention given to us, it has to be the friendliest B&B in Northumberland.
Next morning we had a full english breakfast in the dining room which has spectacular views across the countryside.
Many Thnaks Rik & Jo

We spent two enjoyable nights here. We received a warm welcome from Liz, the landlady, and the local customers were friendly. Our bed was comfortable, the towels soft and white, and the food good. We would recommend this as excellent value for money, and hope to return sometime to do some more of the lovely walks in the area.

We stayed as a group walking the St Oswald's Way long distance path. Unfortunately one of our group had to abandon the trip the night we were staying at The Gun and we were pleasantly surprised that his deposit was returned!
This is a family run pub so don't expect Five Star Hotel accomodation. What you will get is a very warm welcome with good pub food, choice of Real Ales and a good breakfast to start your day.
If your stay is on a Quiz Night you will also be well entertained!
