The house is in a beautiful area with stunning views acroos the lcoh and lots of wildlife, which can be seen from both the back and front of the house. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is spacious and very well equipped. It was very nice to meet the owners Jane and Dave who were very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay again
This is our 3rd stay in 8 months at Jane at Dave's accommodation (twice here at Sea Breeze and once at the Sawmill). We were a group of 4 adults and 2 youngsters (9 and 13).
Communication with the host Jane is exceptional and second to none. And as previously reviewed they are so keen for you to have an amazing stay, they have loads of suggestions alongside maps, guides, books etc. so you won't be short of things to do.
Jane is super friendly and helpful, but also respects your privacy and has the right balance of being on hand and there if needed.
I'd also like to congratulate the hosts on winning the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, it is truly well deserved! The reviews speak for themselves, this place is awesome.
We were lucky with bright, hot, sunny days every day
On the banks of Loch Sunart, there is plenty of wildlife to see and you can just watch the loch for hours between reading and chilling.
Jane and Dave kindly gave us use of their Kayaks, which is a real added bonus. You need a wetsuit as the water is still cold, but refreshing as it was so hot!
We didn't go out too far as novice paddlers, as there is always a danger of changing tides. But you can get round to a few other bays and was great fun!
We were lucky enough to see a, seal, too many birds to mention and red deer grazing in the evening at the front. At the back the wild Pine Marten's came every day and we even got to see a badger. It was so exciting for the kids and we all looked forward to our regular visit from the Pine Marten.
It's perfect for a quiet break, amazing for kids with so much wildlife on your doorstep. There are plenty of unspoilt walks and loads to do in and around the area for all ages, visiting Castles, beaches, Glenfinnan (featured in Harry Potter). We even managed to climb Ben Nevis, suggest you need a very early start as its a good hour or so drive to the Visitor centre by Fort William!
We got some provisions from the Jetty Shop, about a mile or so up the road, and had a pint in the bar at the Salen Hotel. Not too far a drive.
Overall you can't fault this property. It is well stocked, clean, tidy and very homely. Their lovely hamper on arrival, including homemade scones and jam, is such a nice touch.
Thank you again for such a lovely stay and making this a holiday to remember. We will see you soon, hopefully when your new Pine Cone Cottage is ready.
Mike and Carol.
What a fabulous place for a holiday, peaceful with lovely views of the loch to the front and a back garden full of wildlife. The cottage itself was home from home, every thing that was needed was there. Very comfortable especially the beds and everything was spotlessly clean.
A very short drive up the road is a great little shop and cafe for picking up your bits of shopping.
Plenty to do in the area, amazing beach at Sanna, glorious mountain views from the northern road, boat trips, a day trip across to the Island of Mull, distillery to visit plus plenty more.
I must also mention the lovely, very friendly and helpful owners. I would fully recommend a holiday in this cottage.
Lovely place, very clean and homely. Excellent facilities with an absolutely stunning view! So peaceful, very easy to relax and get away from it all
Lovely property in a lovely location right in the heart of wildlife. The view from the front is lovely, the back view looks into a garden teaming with wildlife. Visits from pine martens, badgers, an abundance of wild birds plus woodpeckers and jays is just a daily occurrence. Looking out the front we saw otters on three occasions. There were stags outside the house each morning and an occasional seal swam past. You need to look out of both windows at the same time.
The owners are great. They genuinely want you to enjoy your break and made themselves available for any issues. We had non. The house was lovely. Would highly recommend staying here. Lovely.
We stayed a week at the lodge on the shore and wished we could have stayed longer! The accomodation is superb with comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen and facilities generally. The surroundings are amazing and the wildlife did not disappoint. My partner was joined in the loch whilst kayaking by a grey seal on the first day and we had regular visit from the deer and pine martens. The hosts were very helpful and gave us lots of information and advice on things to do.
A brilliant holiday home to get away from it all!
Amazing place. We were attracted by the pictures, and the reality is better. Just incredible views anytime of day, in any weather.
The wildlife was abundant and very close.
The owners have done a great job in making this the perfect highland retreat.
