For years I have want to see the Tempel Lipizzans. The thought of dancing horses twinkled in my head. So finally, I went! It was the last performance of the year - a sunny but chilly & windy Sept. afternoon. The horses & riders look very regal and a "narrator" takes you thru the life & training of the horses. Each action is demonstrated by several horses throughout the arena area, so that everyone can get a good look. It's interesting, but I expected more "dancing".
After the show, everyone is allowed into the barns to see the horses and if lucky enough, to pet a horse or 2. There are also younger horses in the field that you can pet after the show.
There is a food tent set up and if you're hungry, you'll probably spent the money on overpriced sandwiches, chip and a drink -- we did!
There's no vending machines or drinking fountains.
Be prepared to use a porta-potty!
