It was only one night but as usual it was amazing, all staff went to their maximum to help us reception, restaurants and room service.
The dinner at the arrival night was really tasty and had too many varieties and breakfast next day as well.
Reception has let us stay late till 3 pm it was nice from them.

Thank you for, amish, valentine, hanan and manuel at pool.
Myself and my wife like this hotel and we will come back in every occasion

Room Tip: Everyone like the pool view, but if you are looking for relaxing go for the mountain view.

This is a very nice hotel and the staff are helpful. The rooms are clean and fresh but in some rooms the WiFi is woefully inadequate. The other MAJOR drawback is that while they advertise this as being in Salalah, it's actually in Mirbat 80 kilometers away. Also the road from the airport to the hotel is not that great so you should plan on at least an hour to get there!

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Tripadvisor.

We provide complimentary Internet access in all public areas and through data cable in the rooms. We are continuously working on increasing the speed as well as proving WIFI in the rooms to provide our guest excellent browsing experience.

As you would have noticed during your booking process, we do not claim to be a city hotel and are away from the crowded and busy city life because we choose to be closer to nature and history. Hence we are located closer to various UNESCO sites. The two miniature statues of prancing horses at the entrance of the Mirbat town has a whimsical memorial to its history as an important breeding center for Arabian steeds. We are regarded as the preferred getaway for those who enjoy experiencing and exploring history in the lap of nature.

Thank you for the positive comments on our Associates. I have communicated your appreciations to the team which has truly motivate them further. You are our valued guest hence everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience, your feedback is extremely valuable to us.

Looking forward to welcoming you again at Salalah Marriott Resort.

Regards.

This hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. It takes around an hour drive from Salalah airport to the hotel with almost nothing to see on the way. The hotel premises are not impressive at all; the rooms are spacious but nothing is handy or user friendly; the safeboxes are obsolete and do not work. After trying for 20 minutes I gave up using the safe and all our group of 12 Pax had exactly the same experience. Many of the rooms have an ugly view. I asked for a sea view room to have a less depressing experience. The seaview rooms on the second floor are acceptable as far as the view is concerned. The bathrooms are the most uncomfortable bathrooms I have come across in my travels. The Breakfast buffet is incredibly poor. Last but not least the hotel has actually NO beach facility. It has got direct access to the sea but one
cannot swim for the beach is rocky and looks destitute. I assume the hotel is suitable for scuba divers. All in all this hotel is not up to Marriott standards and does not deserve more than a three star rating.

If there is one thing that deserves credit it is the staff. Especially the front office staff, who were particularly kind and helpful.

Should I ever travel to Salalah again I will definitely not book the Marriott Mirbat.

Room Tip: Unless you go for scuba diving do not book this hotel!

Dear rodica_maayta,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that your experience with us was not up to your expectations.

As you would be aware during the booking process, we do not claim to be a city hotel and are away from the crowded and busy city life. We choose to be closer to nature and history. Hence we are located closer to UNESCO sites like the Frankincense port, Queen Sheeba's castle, Nabi Ayub (Prophet Job) tomb, Anti-Gravity spot and many more. The two miniature statues of prancing horses at the entrance of the Mirbat town has a whimsical memorial to its history as an important breeding center for Arabian steeds. You will find all these spots on the way to our Resort. If you have missed seeing these famous tourists spots on your recent visit, we sure can assist you on your next trip. We are regarded as the preferred getaway in Salalah for those who enjoy experiencing and exploring history in the lap of nature.

There is a lot to do at the resort besides relaxing by the beach, rejuvenating at the Spa, exploring underwater sea life with Extra Divers and dipping into Oman’s largest swimming pool. We have a large selection of outdoor and indoor activities like hatha yoga, pool volley ball, passive stretching, beach football, kinesis training, badminton, tennis as well as caroms, chess, darts, kids movie night etc.

I am extremely sorry to hear that you have had challenges operating the safe boxes. If brought to our notice our operations team would have been more than happy to assist you. It’s unfortunate that the view has not impressed you. We offer both the sea, pool and mountain view rooms, all the room categories have been very popular among our guests so far.

We follow strict guidelines to keep up to Marriott International brand standards and we constantly strive to provide our guest excellent hotel experience. Thank you once again for sharing your experience and positive comments on our associates.

Regards.

It was my first tym July 2012, in this wonderful place a Huge 5* Property lying on the south of Salalah town,we were a group of Tour/Aviation operators, though a bit far but you'll really experience a different environment, built in a very big area, their rooms are awesome....can i mention swimming pool...Wow! Just like you're in Hawaai beach.big enough to put a yatch inside...lol..Lunch is what we had there beside the pool and we really enjoyed every moment of our stay,...i found this place very silent and kool for those who would like to go for Honeymoon this is the place ....it's like you are at Home away from Home with your darlings... Keep it up all Marriot staff & Management..well organized, trained and very helpful...If i get i chance i'll definitely come again

Room Tip: Overall....All rooms are absolutely very nice and i guess they are sound proof as i couldn't hear the loud noise from the other side...

It is a one hour drive from Salalah Airport to the hotel. And not a lot to see on the way! There are only 2 floors to the hotel, but looooong corridors! Our room was about 2 blocks from the lobby. I was not too impressed by the decor. There was no chest of drawers, nor a second luggage rack. And most of the time it is two guests to the room, but only one rack! The amenities in the bathroom were lacking in quality and quantity. The small hand towels were never replaced after the first day.
Service was slow and not up to standard.
We went into the bar for a drink before dinner and asked for peanuts to go with the beer. None were to be had! They did however offer some from a can in the minibar!
It was supposed to be a special dinner---the best on offer for everyone was fresh lobster! A real bargain at 20% off with a further reduction if you used American Express! They had on the buffet fajita filling but no flour tortillas to put it in! The breakfast was OK but the scrambled eggs looked and tasted as if they were powdered. Not top quality one expects at a Marriott facility.

But the worst part was the isolation. If you wanted to go to a convent for a get away this would be it.
If this was low season, what will the service be in high season?

Room Tip: Get one near the lobby, upstairs. The lobby echos the noise down the halls. You can hear people at the end of the hall.

Dear Tetamalu,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that your experience with us was not up to your expectations.

As you would be aware during the booking process that we are not a city hotel and are away from the crowded city. We choose to be closer to nature and history and are hence located closer to UNESCO sites like the Frankincense port, Queen Sheeba's castle, Nabi Ayub (Prophet Job) tomb, Anti-Gravity spot and many more. The two miniature statues of prancing horses at the entrance of the Mirbat town has a whimsical memorial to its history as an important breeding center for Arabian steeds. This is why our Resort is the preferred getaway in Salalah for those who prefer enjoying the scenic beauty of nature closer to history. You will find all these spots on the way to our Resort. If you have missed seeing these famous tourists spots on your recent visit, we sure can assist you on your next trip.

Referring to the in-room amenities, I am sorry to hear that it has not impressed you. We strive to make our amenities the highest quality. Keeping guest’s beauty and body care regimen in mind, Marriott Hotels has now upgrading to Acca Kappa’s Green Mandarin Collection, an Italian amenities line in Marriott Hotels properties in Europe and the Middle East. We have started implementing the same in our Resort and it will be completed before the end of this month. With regard to the dinner, I have understood from our Hotel operations team that your group coordinator had cancelled the special group dinner 3 hours before arrival and requested for À la carte instead.

As Marriott’s Spirit to Serve our Community policy, we aspire to be the global hospitality leader that demonstrates how responsible hotel management can be a positive force for the environment and are committed towards environmental preservation. Hence we follow the linen re-use program in which the guest have to leave their towels in the bathtub in order to get fresh towels each day. As we work toward a greener, healthier planet we replace the linen or towels every 3 days or if our Housekeeping staff finds them soiled and also if the guest uses the reuse program.

We appreciate your feedback and do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back on your next visit to Salalah.

Regards,
Samer Khair
