We stayed at Langford Fivehead for one night on the Saturday before Christmas, having been lucky enough to win a competition for a night's bed ,breakfast & gourmet meal. It was perfect- from the moment we arrived at the intriguing property, a 15th Century Manor House, we felt welcome as house guests rather than customers. The food was top quality as other reviewers have stated and our room- Jesse de Mowbray- was luxurious and full of character, more of a suite than a room.
The weather relented long enough for us to have a short walk in a small part of the 7 acres of land, I can imagine how pleasant it would be in the long summer evenings to explore further.

Perhaps the best aspect of our stay was the friendly welcome from Olly and Rebecca; they always had time for a chat despite being busy people, but never intrusively- we were left to our own devices in the knowledge that if we ever needed anything we only had to ask.
Last but not least the staff were also all friendly, helpful and professional!
This was a perfect start to our Christmas.

Langford Fivehead is a wonderful place. My husband and I first experienced Olly's cooking when he worked at a restaurant near my parents in Cornwall and we were so impressed that we chose to have our wedding there. As we live in Bristol we were delighted to hear that he and his wife were now running a restaurant with rooms less than an hour from us and decided to check it out for our first wedding anniversary.

It was utterly perfect! The house is beautiful, warm and welcoming, and Rebecca and Olly are the perfect hosts. The food certainly didn't disappoint - I think the caramel with my dessert was probably the nicest thing I have ever eaten! The canapes and petit fours were a lovely touch. Breakfast the next morning was just as tasty.

If you are thinking of booking a night at Langford, do it - you won't be disappointed. Thank you Olly and Rebecca for making our first wedding anniversary one to remember!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Diamond Smugglers which was beautiful and had a peek at all of them. All very prett...

Langford Fivehead is a special experience. The house is utterly gorgeous, so warm and comfortable with a relaxing atmosphere. We loved the grand entrance hall which was very elegant, and the bedrooms are lovely, full of character and detail. Rebecca and Ollie were the consummate hosts, friendly but never intrusive. Ollie is a very gifted chef, and we ran our of superlatives for the menus he created for us to enjoy every night. We had eaten at a Michelin star restaurant on the way down from London, and Ollie's cooking was superior: delicate and full of flavour, created from local produce and vegetables grown in the garden. From the crab bisque and home-made honeycomb to the Somerset cheeses and the world's best smoked salmon, it was all truly delicious. What could be better than to relax in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine and amuse-bouche? There is an elm-panelled dining room which is run as a restaurant as distinct from the B&B, and we suggest you get there quick!

Room Tip: Nathaniel Barnard is the most beautiful room I've ever seen, vast with a sitting area, four-post...

Just spent two days at Langford Fivehead. We had the place to ourselves and thanks to Rebecca and Ollie, the couple who run the hotel, we enjoyed the most pampered stay possible.

Great bedroom, super comfy bed, lovely living room to cosy up to a grand fire and beautiful grounds to walk in but it's Ollie's cooking that will put Langford on the map. It's that great. They've been running the place since May, and I think foodies will be flocking in droves so felt very smug to have got there first! A great place to stay, eat like a king and feel truly rested and relaxed.

We recently stayed at Langford for the weekend with our children celebrating our wedding. Amazingly they were happy for us to take over the house and enjoy being well and truly looked after by Olly and Rebecca. The food was amazing, the bedrooms luxurious, in fact we were so well looked after we really didn't want to leave. Whether you're thinking of just eating in the restaurant or staying for a few nights, we can't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fabulous. The Nathanial Barnard is particularly wonderful with a free standing ba...

We couldn't get into Babbington House for a whole weekend so took a punt on a Saturday night at Langford Fivehead followed by the Sunday at Babbington. Two totally different venues but Langford Fivehead certainly held its own. Olly and Rebecca were the perfect hosts. Always there when you needed them but blended into the background when you were sat enjoying a G&T in the lounge. The rooms are sumptuous and a lot of thought and money has gone into the design with no expense sparred. The evening meal was delightful and certainly on par with any a la carté restaurant with have visited. Breakfast also delightful and a very relaxed affair. Locally sourced ingredients and a perfect set up for the day. The only gripe that I had was that we didn't get to take a walk in the extensive grounds, but we certainly will on our next visit. All in all a very well done to Olly and Rebecca.
