We were upgraded to a King suite - very spacious, quiet, well-equipped kitchen - and the delightful receptionist gave us chocolate brownies wrapped with ribbon as a welcome gift! We ate the continental breakfast in the dining room the next morning - comprising beautiful fresh fruit, juice, croissant, coffee and an enormous bowl of muesli!

We received a upgrade of our booked room on arrival which set the tone of out stay. Outstanding renovations of one of the oldest hotels in the country with a immaculate presented room. We had room service delivered both nights with my steak on the first night one of the best I have tasted in quite a while.

We had a enjoyable couple of hours in the bar on the first day meeting some really interesting local characters. Best TAB set-up I have encountered and really friendly staff.

Room size is too small .
It is too bad services of no warning for the penalty charges of smoking in hotel ...
The hotel claims that it provides 50MB free wifi but when i start to use only remain 30MB.

Dear Cherry426 ,
thank you very much for your valued response. We are sorry to hear your stay wasn't as you expected.
Unfortunately we do have a strictly no smoking policy in the hotel which is stated on our check in forms and is explained up on check in. We do however provide ash trays just outside the building as well as a dedicated smoking area accessable through our bar. After speaking with my colleague we have increased your internet allowance during your stay. Unfortunately by going over that allowance we had to pass on costs charged to us by our provider.
If you like to give us another chance, please do contact us and I am sure we can offer you one of our Studio Apartments which has three beds in them and allows for more space, rather then a double bed room with a roll away bed.

Once again, thank you very much for staying at the Tuakau Hotel.

Stayed at this hotel merely to get away last minute decision & decision well made, on arrival i was greeted with the utmost respect & the young man @ the bar was very helpful,.. All though i booked late & requested an executive room I was advise that an upgrade from an executive room to a premier room was granted. What a pleasant surprise when i was shown my way to the room as I admired the building I was told that it had been beautifully restored, interesting history behind it. As I entered into a beautiful setting, everything was perfect,The room luscious big bed, clean, tidy, welcoming in pristine condition and they provided everything, to mini bar, free wifi which was excellent as i was able to complete my work very convenient, I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is interested to stay there, I know that i will definitely be staying there again and again as i do make trips to this area quite often to see friends & am interested in investing a shop there.. Thank you to all the staff at Tuakau Motel,, What a great place to getaway...

Room Tip: "excellent Stay, book a executive room or a premier room to have more of the luxuries"

Dear matmor23,

thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a your feedback. It is with pleasure to pass on your comments to the team at the Tuakau Hotel. Your valued feedback helps to encourage our staff to continuously provide an exceptional level of service to our guests.
There is a long and rich history of the Tuakau Hotel and region. In particular the last few years have seen the development from a quite rural town to, what we like to call today the Gateway to Waikato and Auckland. Our striving little town is in continuous change and improvement.
We like to wish you all the best for your investment plans and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Stayed in this hotel purely because everything in Auckland was booked up. Arrived expecting one of the usual small town backpacker type places but couldn't have been further from the case.

Recently refurbished, the studio room was pristine and provided everything you could need including free wifi. The restaurant had limited choice but everything selected proved to be good. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly.

The only negative, which is somewhat outside the control of the hotel short of triple glazing, was the occasional noise through the night of passing trains which also had to blow their horn as they passed over the main road.

This was a last minute booking, but after the stay at the lovely Tuakau Hotel, it is definitely on the list to stay at again when in the area.

The reception was very warm and welcoming at this beautifully restored building in Tuakau. Although originally booked into a single room as I was on a short business trip, I was was moved to a very pleasant double room which was larger on the first floor in the main building. All amenities were available in the room which was very clean and nicely decorated. Although I didn't eat at the Hotel, choosing instead to go around the corner to a very good Indian Restaurant, the menu looked excellent and the bar and restaurant areas were very pleasant and comfortable.
I would strongly recommend staying here.

I stayed one night at the hotel and being on a tight budget, chose the smallest room for one person. Although the room was small, the quality of everything was amazing - 5 star. Everything I needed was included. The staff were very helpful and friendly and accompanied me to my room to show me where it was and how things worked. I could not fault the hotel at all. Exceptional.
