Nicely renovated and modern lobby, very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Nice clean rooms and comfy bed and linens. The breakfast area is large (comes in handy with a large group) and the hot breakfast was a real time and money saver. Also, we have never stayed at a hotel that is connected with FULL fitness center (Gold's Gym) that you have total access to as a guest - an amazing extra! Large swimming pool, full weight room, gym, track etc. If you want some Chicago deep dish pizza while staying here order from Lou Malnati's -they deliver to the hotel, piping hot and amazingly delicious. Other attractions in the area are Woodfield Mall and Medievil Times. We would gladly stay at this Holiday Inn again!

Stayed for 8 nights in February. Always a good place to stop, the rooms are large and clean with friendly staff.
The 1st night some ignorant people decided to throw a party in their room until the early hours of the morning, nothing the staff can do about these things, I spoke to desk clerk following morning and was instantly offered a room on the top floor in a corner well out of the way. The rest of the stay was excellent and quiet.
My only grumble would be the very limited TV coverage, it really needs to upgrade to Digital.
Would have no hesitation in returning.

I stayed at this hotel during July 2011-Agu 2011 for a week on business. The lobby and the staff are great, including the managers. The manager was excellent in trying to do whatever she could to accommodate. However you really can’t accommodate for the rooms being somewhat dated and small, they are really trying at this hotel, but it was not at the level I wanted. They did keep the rooms clean. The food was mostly warm up stuff. The manager reception was nice, but this hotel is lacking a lot of things, that a regular demanding traveler would expect. I visited that gym, and it is very large, however it is dated and sorted spooky as well. I was not feeling this place that much and would not go back to it. However it is not the worst place I have stayed at and the staff was very nice and really trying to make things right. If you are looking for a budget place to stay that is ok, then this would be for you. The free Breakfast and managers reception are the big plus!

On our recent trip to Chicago I chose to stay at this hotel. It was a bit farther from downtown than I expected, but we learned to navigate using the public transportation. The hotel is in a very nice area in the northwest suburbs and we drove around to see the local sights. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I travel and stay in hotels every week and the Holiday Inn Express in Palatine truly is a great hotel experience. Their staff is friendly, professional and provide great service. They really go out of their way to make your stay fantastic! The rooms are spacious, very clean, comfortable beds, quiet/sleep friendly hallways. The breakfast and manager's reception each day are very good. And the free access to World's Gym next door is awesome! The accomodating staff, flexibility and can & will do attitude expressed is very refreshing. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler to the Palatine area.
