We were fortunate to get married in this amazing hotel. Although 'hotel' is not the right word for this amazing establishment. Ms. Chimenti made sure our dream wedding was undreamable and beyond our imagination. The entire crew of La Posta Vecchia made sure that we and our family came nothing short and made us feel very much at home. All was unexpressively amazing and we all cherish our memories to our wonderfull stay here. The garden, the restaurant, the terrace, the rooms, the service, the kindness of the staff and in general the entire 'hotel' were breathtaking.
We will definately come back on a yearly basis to celebrate our anniversary.

All the best to everyone at La Posta Vecchia!
Salutti a tutti!

In Juli 2013 we had the honor to stay at La Posta Vecchia for two nights. Everything was perfect; the room, the service, the terrace, the location, the beach, the food, etc. Together with the event manager of La Posta Vecchia we were able to organize a perfect weddingday.

The estate is beautiful - old palace restored to immaculate levels. The rooms are each different and just as nice. Grand old rooms restored to a luxurious level. Given the small number of rooms, there are only a limited number of guests. The grounds are just as nice.

The breakfast is excellent. Lunch and dinner are served from the gourmet restaurant on premise (1 Michelin star) – small portions, very high prices, average tasting food. I wish there was another option for food.

There is not much to do or see in the vicinity of the hotel. We borrowed loaner bikes and rode into town a few miles away. The first mile was wonderful, then you hit the town’s commercial traffic. The town itself is all commercial and not tourist-driven.

If you are planning a visit at La Posta Vecchia Hotel, plan on staying on premise and chilling out. Not a good place to go with kids (nothing to do), but if you are seeking on-premise, high-end, adult down-time, this is a viable option.

The hotel is relaxing and located right beside a castle. The hotel itself is a piece of history. There is a ruin in the basement that you can visit. The room is clean and the housekeeping service is flawless. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel to relax after 8 busy days in Tuscany.

The only complain that I have was their conciage service. I asked for their recommendation for dinner restaurant on the last night in Italy. It was a Monday night and many restaurants were closed in the area. The staff at the conciage was unaware that 2 of her recommendations were closed on that day. The 3rd one that she suggested turn out to be the worst meal that we had in Italy. It was disappointing and upsetting. I went back to the conciage to report the incident and I was told that I cannot compare the restaurant in the area with Tuscany. I also reported the incident during the written evaluation by email. Again, nobody bother to follow up.

All in all, this is a great hotel but I expected better service from Relais & Chateaux.

After landing in Rome, we stayed here for two nights based on the recommendation of friends. The property is a little tricky to find; you have to go into the town, make a U-turn, and come back the way you came, bearing to the right. The GPS didn’t really know where it was. Of course, you can always have the hotel’s helicopter pick you up at the airport...

We booked the “seaside romance” package that included a seaview room, massages, and a three-course dinner (although I’m not sure we saved any money with the package). Our room was huge and comfortable with a fabulous view, and the massage therapist, Barbara, was excellent. The other night we tried the nine-course tasting menu, which actually turned out to be something like eleven courses if you count things like “pre-dessert.” It was fun, but not something I’d need to do again. My favorite thing that we ate while we were there was the simple spaghetti cacio e pepe.

There’s not a lot to do here besides relax, which was exactly what we were looking for. The only minor drawback to us was that the Michelin-starred restaurant was the only dining venue. If we had been staying longer, we would probably have ventured into the town for lunch or dinner for something different and more casual.

The property was gorgeous and the service was what you’d expect at a place like this. I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking for relaxation at the beginning or end of their Italian vacation. I hope to stay here again.

No, this time I will NOT stay at La Posta Vecchia, but in the past I always appreciated the beauty of the villa, its location and its garden with the roman mosaics. The place well deserves its Michelin star and is proud member of Relais & Chateaux.

I got an email from their reservation manager stating that a group will take over the place the evening of my planned and prepaid stay. It appeared that it will be a birthday party of a large Russian family (24 people), not really a thing you want to assist when looking for a romantic evening.

By informing me about this occurrence the property acted with big respect and professionalism towards its guest. When suggesting the reservation to be transferred to Il Pellicano (same owner family) they immediately accepted despite the room at this property being EUR 252 more expensive.

Thanks to this arrangement not only will we spend a nice evening, but also experience another even 2 Michelin star restaurant - I will review.

La Posta Vecchia - a proud Relais & Chateaux indeed.

Room Tip: The superior deluxe seaview rooms (only three of them) can now specifically be booked online and are...

What a fabulous hotel, formerly owned by Paul Getty. It has its own Roman villa ruins in a basement exhibition gallery. The food is magnificent and the staff very attentive. Expensive but well worth it.
