There are no words to describe how happy I am with my choice to stay at Amaryllis Luxury Guest House.
Located in the very top of a charming village called Ano Pedina, you open the door of the guest house and you find yourself to a different era. The era of romanticism and the charm of 19th century.
Gioula and Fanis have a magical way to be always available without being intrusive during your stay and they will spoil you with mouthwatering homemade pies, cakes, herbal teas, and many more!
The car is essential in order to visit the center of the village as well as neighboring villages.
Over all it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back during wintertime to witness the beauty of this place with lighten fire in the fireplace! (Fireplace is available in every single room <3 )
Highly recommended!

We stayed in Amaryllis from Dec 28 to Jan 3 of 2016. We were excited by the professionalism of the owner, as she did everything possible to offer us a memorable stay. The building is a renovated traditional mansion, decorated with stylish things, which clearly demonstrate the delicate perspective of Gioula (owner). Every room has its own / unique style - all rooms although different (one from another) they're absolutely wonderful. We stayed in room #5 which is truly amazing: a very good view of the garden while the prevailing purple color creates a very romantic sense. The breakfast is more than delicious offering the guests with different culinary experiences every day. Last, but not least: we had the opportunity to meet with Phanis (the 'coffee expert' to quote his words), an authentic man always at your disposal with a genuine smile to make your stay truly unforgettable...We really hope that we'll soon have the opportunity to visit Amaryllis again!

Our room in the main house was a good size, light and airy, with pretty 'French country' decoration. It had a fairly small shower room, but one which was well appointed and well designed. Everything is well kept.
The house itself is an old village house which has been well restored and is a lovely place to stay. There is a breakfast room but you can also have breakfast in the courtyard. Breakfast is individually served (there is very much an emphasis on the personal touch here) and is good and filling.
There was a kettle and teapot in the room for the tea lovers among us. There was free wifi - a bit hit and miss in the room itself but ok in the shared areas (why is it that small guest houses manage to offer this for their visitors but big hotels still insist on charging?)
The hosts are very friendly and accommodating (they were off shopping one night and made sure to ask if we needed anything). They were very good at passing on local knowledge and we tried restaurants on their recommendation. A local information pack in the room was a nice touch.
Given the modest rates it charges, this guest house represents excellent value for money.
Ano Pedina is a charming, quiet village. There are a number of small hotels and guest houses but it is not touristy. Although it is not one of the 'glamour' villages of the Zagoria, it is very attractive and ideally placed for exploring the region. Try Sotiria's taverna for home-cooked food, with vegetables from her garden and quite probably meat from her own animals.

The spot is magnificent, the rooms are super cute and Yiannis and his breakfast memorable. Just don't take his hiking advice too seriously! Also the welcoming of the owners was a pleasant surprise with treats. We would definitely return for a spring visit!
