In my opinion for the price you will not get a nicer place to stay in the area. I was at first weary of going somewhere that was not en-suite (nightmares of my student accommodation days), but the whole place was very clean, had so much character, was warm and charming - it did not matter.
We took the large family room and it had a really nice atmosphere. Although above the inn itself I could not hear any noise through the floor when trying to sleep. The rooms hadoriginal period features and are miles apart from the sterile hotel chains available at a similar price. The room had a TV and DVD player and a selection of DVD’s and magazines are available in the hallway
The inn itself is a nice traditional local, with a nice clientele. The owners and staff at the Inn are incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. We ate in the Inn also; I highly recommend the pies which were also very reasonably priced.
The full English breakfast we had was also nice. - Massive portions, and good quality bacon and sausages.
We rounded our stay off with a nice walk around the village. Wherwell itself is a beautiful place with a gorgeous stream running through it. Anyone who needs to stay in the area would do well stay here.
