“Immaculate, beautiful and comfortable”
Reviewed 24 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Wow, what a special, really wonderful place. The house is spacious, lots of room for roaming, all the rooms are immaculate yet homely, every detail attended to, everything exceptionally well maintained, and the kitchen has everything you might need for cooking, eating and drinking.

The garden and grounds are also stunning. Although it's in the village, the grounds feel completely private and there's the woods for roaming - carpeted with bluebells when we were there which was the icing on a very large, delicious cake.

“Perfect Family Reunion Home”
Reviewed 9 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Fabulous house with plenty of room for our family get together, we were 13 adults and a toddler, all bedrooms were beautiful with ensuite bathrooms, the kitchen was so well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Loads of seating areas and two huge tables for us all to sit together for meals. The house is enormous, but felt so homely. Lovely table in the garden and two bbq’s. The garden is so beautiful and very safe for little ones and leads to a woodland walk by a stream.

The area is so beautiful with loads of walks, and the village has a great bakery for coffee, lunch with a fabulous shop for home accessories and ladies clothes.

Can’t wait to go back and would highly recommended.

We all visited Melmerby hall for two family birthdays, and we're so glad we did. From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure to deal with Christine and Jilly. Everything we cold have wished for in a venue like this was available to us. The house and grounds are immaculate with more than enough room for all ages to play and relax. The kitchen and entertaining areas have all that you could want for a large party. The younger children loved exploring the cellar and the grounds, and there was more than enough entertainment available for us older folk with the snooker room and the comfortable sofa's surrounding the large log fires.
As a family we have stayed in many large houses for different occasions and I can honestly say this is the best one yet! Would definitely highly recommended Melmerby Hall to all looking for a top class venue for large groups.

“Quiet bliss”
Reviewed 25 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

A wonderful property, a step back in time but with all modern facilities. Quiet pleasant gardens providing total relaxation and if the evenings are cool the real log fires in the house provide a welcoming sight. Ideally situated in the centre of the village in easy walking distance of a good bakery and quality public house.

Will no doubt, if opportunity allows, book again.

The owner and staff were very helpful, professional and considerate.

“A really beautiful venue, delicious catering and a lovely village.”
Reviewed 18 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Melberby Hall and Stag Cottage were excellent venues for our Vocal Inspiration Course - beautifully presented throughout and extremely comfortable in every way. We enjoyed visiting the shops and bakery in the village and were looked after wonderfully by local caterer and house staff all week. Looking forward to returning.

Fantastic venue for my 60th birthday. It exceeded all our expectations for 24 family and friends. We also rented the adjoining Stag cottage The spec is top class and has something for everyone, old and young. The grounds are great for exploring and beautiful walks by the river. A big thank you to Christine,Jilly and the staff who work so hard to keep up a great standard. Also special thanks to Lynn and team for keeping us fed with fantastic food for 3 days. Melmerby has all you need for that ideal break. The village has an excellent bakery and pub.
The Hall is all one could ask for . Being an old building it has character and yet all modern conveniences have been incorporated in a sensitive professional way making it the ultimate retreat. Very well maintained and Mr&Mrs Rowley the owners could not be more accommodating. I can’t praise this place enough it exceeded expectations. By the way the gardens and grounds are wonderful giving the outdoor space this hall expects. Superb
