“'Wow' was the first word from everybody as we entered the property.”
Reviewed 6 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This cottage was superbly renovated with tasteful decoration and furniture, and full of character. The owners had thought of everything that was required to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, even down to the fabulous welcome hamper. The kitchen was modern and very clean as were both of the bathrooms. As for the bedrooms, well the Egyptian cotton bedding on top of extremely comfortable beds was a real pleasure. This was such a good holiday that we have already booked again for next year.

“Awesome Accommodation”
Reviewed 21 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Jenny's Croft was an excellent choice for our stay near the Lake District. The grounds and spacious cottage are well maintained. The bountiful hamper and great bed were much appreciated as were the washer and dryer after having been on the road for over a week. We had great weather but still were able to enjoy the fireplace the last evening when the temperature was a bit cooler. We enjoyed the Lake District and the beautiful drives back and forth. The scenery closer to the cottage is also very picturesque. This cottage ranks at the top of the list of the many accommodations we have rented over the past 25 years. If steps are a problem, this cottage may not be a good choice for you.

“Great Stay in Lake District”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This cottage is very well maintained. Although self-catering, the owners provided a lot of startup grocery to make it easier on the first day. Great view from the property. A little remote but if one has a car then getting around in Lake District is quite easy from the place.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed 5 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Having stayed in similar accomodation in various places I would have to say this is one of the best. Set in idyllic surroundings this spacious and spotlessly clean cottage is close to perfection. The kitchen offers more than most, the beds are comfortable with good quality linen and there is plenty of firewood for the fire. When we arrived an extremely generous welcome basket full of local produce awaited us which included everything we needed for a couple of breakfasts plus some treats. We particularly enjoyed the local toffee and fudge and to find a bottle of Australian wine included was a very nice touch and most appreciated. There were suggestions for places to eat locally, and we found both The Fetherston Arms and The Crown Inn in nearby KIrkoswald to be very good. The Boot and Shoe near Blencowe was a great stop for a drink and the menu looked very appealing. Whilst there we also visited Levens Hall which we found very interesting and really enjoyed walking through their excellent topiary gardens, not to mention the great home-made lunch available at The Buttery. (Soup and pasties were delicious!). We then took a boat ride from Lakeside to Bowness which was really relaxing. On the return drive we found the road from Grasmere to Penrith was closed for repair and were advised by locals to go over the Kirkstone Pass. Well what an adventure that was - over hills and down dales on even more narrow roads than we had been driving on in this area, but in the end we were so pleased we had the opportunity to do it. Well I have digressed a bit from Jennys Croft but as you can see we thiroughly enjoyed our stay as I am sure will you.

“Fabulous cottage”
Reviewed 21 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

If you are looking for a comfortable, peaceful, clean, well equipped and beautiful place to stay, perfectly positioned to explore the lakes and Northumbria then look no further!!!
My husband and I had a fabulous break here. Roaring log burner, comfortable bed, really spacious and interestingly laid out and all the mod cons. Apparently dogs are welcome in this cottage, you wouldn't know as it is really clean and tidy.
My one very small suggestion, and only because we had wonderful weather would be for a couple of comfortable garden chairs.
We only stay with rural retreats or unique home stays and this cottage definitely lived up to others we have chosen.
If you are thinking of booking, BOOK.

Hi thank you so much for taking the time to provide a Trip Advisor review following your stay at Jenny's Croft. it is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we have passed your compliments to Jilly's hard working housekeeping team. We have a sustainable plantation sourced teak garden table and chairs on the sandstone terrace at Jenny's Croft & will definitely look into your suggestion regarding getting some additional seating beyond this -- particularly as we are coming into the summer months! We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you all for a visit another time soon :) Best regards, Christine, Charlie and Jilly

“Beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 7 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed for 3 nights at Jennies Croft. What a beautiful cottage that was extremely well appointed with all the bells and whistles you would expect in a 5 star hotel.

We also took our dogs who loved it too.

Would go back anytime!
