My 7 year old Grand Niece truly enjoyed this museum and found something really fascinating for her on each floor. The marine fossils at the basement level, the dinosaur fossils and reconstructions on the first floor were among her favorites.

We were very impressed with this museum! Who would expect to see a complete teenaged T-Rex much less a full Triceratops in Rockford? We loved learning how they were found. The exhibits were very well done! We also enjoyed seeing native animals and the homing pigeon display as well. Very nice museum!

Parking was very easy, and once parked, several museums were attached. We were also able to walk to the river walk path, and enjoy the view. Wish I had scouted the area ahead of time better, as we would have enjoyed looking at the indian mounds nearby.

Blue Star Museum.

Excellent gift shop with original items.

My crew (9-16) enjoyed the first floor the most. But each floor was worth seeing. The passenger pigeon exhibit was lacking. A docent came an showed off a local snake.

The best display of triceratops we have ever seen. All the children enjoyed the interactive video about Lucy.

We spent over an hour here.

Exhibits change periodically and there's always some interactive stuff throughout the exhibits. Great for kids and adults.
