We stayed here for a long weekend with two other families and the house was spacious enough to accommodate the ten of us with ease. It looked to be very recently decorated and carpeted and the simple and stylish interior made it feel very special. It’s seconds from the A1 but quiet and peaceful and is in an ideal place to explore the Northumberland coast or a bit further inland if you have a car. There is nothing in the village in terms of places to eat or shop but nearby Belford and Lowick fill that need perfectly and Bamburgh and Seahouses aren’t much further. The only minor criticism (which I think you’re allowed when you spend nearly a grand for a weekend) is that the parking isn’t great if your party has more than two cars (but not sure what you can do as it’s all on one road) and the terraced area at the front of the property needs some attention. There were a lot of weeds,a bit of broken furniture and a rusty BBQ but given how impeccable the interior is I’m sure this will be put right very soon and end up being of a similar high standard. For those who simply can’t be away from their tech, the WiFi is good but as we had glorious weather that wasn’t an issue for us. All in all an absolute gem of a place to stay - only wish I could afford to live there!
