I was so pleased with our stay here recently. Although it is a little ways out of the city itself, it is in a very convenient location, especially for someone driving through. The parking was free (a rarity in Chicago) and it was less than a 5 minute walk to the CTA blue line (which runs 24 hours). The hotel staff was very friendly and check-in and check-out was a breeze.

Our room was excellent...very clean and spacious. Surprisingly for a hotel so close to the airport and the freeway it was very quiet. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare, but it was also included in our reservation so that was hard to beat. Overall, our stay was comfortable and carefree! Staying in downtown Chicago is a great experience, but if you are looking for a great, safe place at a great value and don't mind the quick train ride into downtown this is your best option!!!

We stayed in a corner room for two nights. The room was very spacious although it is a stretch to call it a suite, it is really one large room. There was a full sized refrigerator, a microwave, a sink and a coffee machine. There was one TV which could be adjusted for watching either in the living area portion of the room of from the beds, not really ideal.

The location is very good. It is easily found off of Higgens Road, just a few minutes from O'Hare. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Blue Line CTA station at Cumberland Road. There is a large Dominic's supermarket at the Cumberland/Higgens intersection (to the left out of the hotel and across the street, about a 15 minutes walk) and a Walgreens Pharmacy at the Cumberland/Canfield intersection (to the right out of the hotel and across the street, also about a 15 minute walk). There are several restaurants in the area including the Outback Steakhouse (more on that later in the review), Hooters, Sputino Pizza (good Chicago hot dogs and pizza) and a Gino East's (all within walking distance).

The hotel is on the edge of the highway and our room was adjacent to the highway. No bothersome noise whatsoever from it, though.

Parking is a challenge at the hotel. There are very few spots on the lot and those spaces are shared with the in-building Outback Steakhouse. At times, there are none available. The staff indicated that there was a parking garage located 300 yards up the road, but I never could locate the entrance at all.

The biggest issue we had was that our room was over the Outback Steakhouse portion of the building and the smells from Outback were pretty overwhelming. When we checked in late the first evening, we actually thought that something had died in the room. The smell was gone the next morning but was back that evening (although nowhere near as intense).

We didn't bother with their breakfast given the TripAdvisor reviews and the silly closing time for it.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the side over the Outback Steakhouse (unless you like the smell of grease).

I recently dtayed at Springhill Suites Chicago O'Hare and waht a great time my group had. The staff was wonderful. It was a group of us (35) and they made sure that our accommodations were what we wanted. Our rooms were very comfortable and pretty. All of us had a wonderful stay and plan to stay again when in the area.

I'll start with hotel amenities... My husband, two kids and I stayed in a 2-bed room. It had 2 full size beds and a pull out sofa bed. The sofa bed was not very comfortable, so my step-son decided to just sleep on the couch and not the pull out bed. We were pleased to find a microwave and mini fridge in the room. The room was very clean and you could adjust the temperature which was awesome. There is a heated indoor pool which doesn't close until 11pm. So it was nice to relax in it after long days of sight seeing. Breakfast was included, so that helped my family of 4 save money. They had the usual things, waffles, eggs, cereal, fruit, etc.
Location - Even though the hotel is near the airport and a busy highway, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. This hotel is outside of Chicago, so you either have to drive into the city (which I do not recommend if you don't like driving around looking for parking all day!) or you can take the Blue Line station (the 'L') which takes you all the way downtown. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the station, or you can just walk. We opted to walk to the Blue Line station, which only took about 10 minutes or so. Once downtown, there are several different train and bus lines which can get you just about anywhere you want to go. Very easy system to figure out. Oh and if you tell the person at the hotel front desk where you are trying to go, they will print out directions for you using the train system! (FYI - you will be on the train approx. 30 minutes from the station near the hotel to the downtown Chicago Loop.)
Our family of 4 got a 3-Day CTA train/bus pass for $56 ($14 per person). It saved us so much money because we could ride the CTA system unlimited and we did not once have to use a cab.
What we liked best - The pool and saving money (since we didn't get an expensive downtown hotel)
What we didn't like - The uncomfortable sofa bed!
If you have kids, take them to the Museum of Science and Industry... but plan to be there for several hours! It is a huge place!

We recently stayed at Springhill Suites Chicago O'Hare and what a wonderful time we had. The staff was the best ever. Very helpful getting and picking us up from the CTA. Room was very pretty and beds were very comfortable. Ate at the Outback and had a really delicious meal. I could not say enough good things about this hotel and definetly not anything bad. The big muffins were excellent and I liked how it offered healthy food also. Will stay there on our next visit.

This is an older hotel and you can tell. The mattress was lumpy, the sheets were thin and the towels were scratchy. They did not have any lotion and I had to buy that on my own. The rooms were just adequate. I expect a little bit more for a Marriott owned Spring Hill Suites but it was just plain adequate.

Even the complimentary breakfast was adequate. They had breakfast sausage patties of pork or turkey. Instead of eggs they had egg patties. It made for an easy english muffin sandwich. The waffle maker was a nice touch though. The upside was the internet connection. It was fast and free. Overall, the place was just average.

By the way, if you stay at this hotel, go visit Superdawg Drive In. They have great hambergers and Chicago dogs. It is less than 5 miles away.

I recently stayed at the Springhill Suites Chicago O'Hare for two nights. The Hotel is conveniently located minutes away from the airport and about a 10 minute walk or free shuttle ride to the CTA Blue Line that takes you to downtown and connections to other lines. The Staff was friendly and excellent. I was printed detailed instructions to get downtown on the Blue and Red Line as well as to get to Wrigley Field. A day pass on the CTA is $5.75. A great value.
The hotel is going through a remodel but my room was excellent and very affordable. The hotel is connected to an Outback Steakhouse which is a nice feature. There is also numerous other restaurants in the area as well as Deep Dish Pizza Options for anyone craving a true taste of Chicago. I would say that the only drawback to this hotel was the very crowded and noisy breakfast. On the morning of my departure I could not even find a place to sit. Nonetheless, this is an afforable and convenient way to visit Chicago and I would stay again at this Hotel.
